1. The SOW and BOM conflict on the type of display required. The SOW specifies a 5.7mm bezel display, and the BOM specifies a 3.5mm bezel display. Which is correct?
The 3.5mm bezel is incorrect. The correct tiled bezel width should be no more than 5.5mm. There should be no more than 5.5mm between pixels.
2. The SOW and BOM request a 3x2 video wall for one of the rooms. Does the customer have a reason for this size? How are they expecting to use this size(e.g. 1x 2x2 + 2x 1x1?)?
The 3x2 video size is required due to size limitations of the wall. See attached slides for an image of the room. The configuration of the monitors should be able to be chosen by the operator. They should be able to drag and scale windows on the viswall as desired.
3. Neither the SOW or BOM clarify that any video sources beyond the VTC are required. What other sources beyond the VTC unit are required for each room?
The video sources are at least 1 presenter PC and the VTC with the capability to add additional displays as needed: e.g. PM systems such as CPOF, BCS3, BFT.
4. There is a KVM requested, but no specifications for how many PC are required for it to connect to, nor if those PC’s are also going to be sources for the AV system. Please provide clarification?
Up to four systems should be able to be connected to the KVM switch.
5. Would be interested in seeing a building or room diagram to accurately determine cable lengths.
The SOW also calls for spare cabling. The SOW states that it is the contractor responsibility to ensure there is adequate existing power and if not to install the required power. Below from
SOW(s).
a. Cabling: Contractor shall provide all cables needed to interconnect equipment in addition to providing at least one spare of each.
See attached diagrams.
b. Power outlets and capacity: It is the contractor’s responsibility to ensure that the outlets at installation locations are of the proper type and size, and that the wiring and outlets are sufficient to meet the electrical demands of the new installations. If they do not, installation of new wiring to the power source and outlets will be the contractor’s responsibility to install and receive DPW certification.
Room 200 has an installed L5-30R. Room 119 currently only has 5-15R receptacles on a shared breaker with at least 2 other outlets.
c. Difficult to assess existing power and plan for new power without eyes on the equipment installation site and existing panelboard to determine spare circuit breaker availability, if required. A site survey would be very helpful for this and the renovation of the projector screen wall.
6. The below seems to indicate that the prime contractor needs to provide a US cleared PM. Can a
Japanese prime provide a US cleared, US company employed subcontractor for this portion?
a. 1.3 ON-SIGHT PROJECT MANAGER: The contractor shall provide an on-site project manager that will be the central point of contact with the Government and be responsible for coordination of the contract. This on-sight project manager shall possess a secret security clearance for the duration of the contract. The contractor shall provide a local telephone number or toll free telephone number for use by the Government.
The source of the sub is not an issue as long as they can be vetted through security channels, and hold a clearance in JPAS.
7. Displays: Please provide total number of video inputs, and if possible, identify the video interface type (i.e., HDMI, VGA, DVI, composite, S-video, SDI, or component) (Both Rooms)
a. DVD - System currently has a DVD/VCR player. The composite output of the DVD player runs to an SXGA converter that outputs VGA to the current switcher. This will have to be integrated into the replacement switcher.
b. PC - DVI-D or DVI-D transported over HDMI if signal degradation will not support such a length.
c. Codec - DVI-D
8. Displays: How many video inputs will be simultaneously displayed in the new Viswall?(Both
Rooms)
a. Three systems should be able to display to the viswall simultaneously.
i. Distant endpoint
ii. Presenter PC
iii. PM system PC
9. Cameras: Please describe the usage intent of the second 1080P HD camera. In addition to being a document camera, will it be used as a video source in a VTC call?(Both Rooms)
a. The second camera is only a doc cam and needs to be able to be selected as either a content (h.329) source or a primary source.
10. Desktop Microphone Systems: Will the conference room system be used as a microphone system for the VTC codec?(Both Rooms)
a. The conference room microphone system will be a selectable audio source for the codec.
11. Desktop Microphone Systems: Our research indicates that the 50cm length gooseneck microphone fits a desktop type discussion unit (one that does not require drilling a hole for the microphone – gooseneck microphone plugs into the desktop base). The other discussion unit base is flush to the table top when installed and requires drilling a hole but gooseneck length is other than 50cm. Please clarify which base type is preferred: desktop or flush mount.(Both
Rooms)
a. Prefer a desktop system such as the Shure GM5924 Microphone Kit. The base allows gooseneck microphones to be changed and the bases are interconnected.
12. External IP Network Switching: The last sentence in the paragraph 1.1.1 Page 4, “Only one of the four network inputs, paired with the one output, must be on at any one time”, contradicts with the second sentence, “The system will consist of five (5) separate codec configuration loading units that reconfigure the codec settings based on the network in use,…….” Please confirm(Both Rooms)
a. There are four IP networks that are connected via switched inputs.
b. There will also be one ISDN connection. The ISDN connection can be active as long as the IP network connected matches the classification of the ISDN configuration.
13. Delivery Information: Required delivery is 30 days ADC. Major items such as the video wall display have a lead time of at least four weeks. Will the period of performance be adjusted to accommodate for shipping, installation and testing?
a. The period of performance will be adjusted to accommodate for the longer than expected lead time for major items. The delivery will be pushed to 60 days ADC.
14. Is there a requirement for both unclassified and classified ISDN communications or will this just be unclassified ISDN service?
a. ISDN will be secure and unsecure through the use of a KIV-7M.
15. How many IP video networks will be connected to the system in each room?
a. Four IP Networks will be used. NIPR/SIPR/CENTRIX-J/CENTRIX-K.
