MEMORANDUM FOR 35 CONS/PKB
FROM: 35 MXS/MXMP
SUBJECT: Borescope specifications for FY19 TSP funded purchase
1. For our FY19 TSP funded borescope purchase, the Misawa CRF is seeking 4 total borescopes. Two will be 4 mm Borescopes, the other two will be 6 mm Borescopes. The requirements we have defined are as follows:
4 mm borescope features:
- Touch-screen embedded computer system
- High quality images (HDR quality or better)
- Super bright LED light source
- Total base system weight under 6.75 lbs/3.0 kg
- USB Ports
- Electronic controlled articulation of at least 159 degrees of all-directional movement due to the small and unique inspection channels required for a borescope of this size in critical areas of the F110 series engines.
- Be able to withstand operating temperatures of 100 C (212 F)
- Internal memory storage of at least 32 GB
- WiFi or Bluetooth wireless connectivity for image sharing options.
- 3D Measurement capability by way of a point cloud system.
- On board software to manage/control 3D point cloud advanced measurement techniques and should include projected plane/surface visualizations.
- Forward & side viewing optical tips.
- Wide range of OEM accessories that allows for increased as-needed functionality, including but not limited to:
Right angle optical tip adapter which allows narrower field of view, higher magnification viewing of target objects.
Stainless steel tube and hand grip accessory components which allows the flexible videoprobe to perform like a rigid borescope Handset holder and clamp assembly which allows handset to be mounted onto equipment framework.
Retrieval tools to remove FO from an engine Optical adapter tips
- Video output connector
6 mm Borescope features:
- Touch-screen embedded computer system
- High quality images (HDR quality or better)
- Super bright LED light source
- Advanced 3D stereo measurement features that are easy to use – preferably with a greater stand-off distance from probe tip to measurement target
- 3D measurement software should be able to discern tilt of the measurement target via multiple sources on the measurement surface to obtain accurate measurements
- Compact self-enclosed case for ease of portability for in-shop and deployed operations
- Total base system weight under 17 lbs/7.7 kg
- Electric motor controlled articulation
- On board help software
- The ability to add on-board WiFi or Bluetooth wireless connectivity for image sharing options (e.g. an SD card slot or USB dongle)
- Compliant under MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F Recommendations:
The unit should have a wide range of OEM accessories that allows for increased as-needed functionality, including but not limited to:
Remote control unit Lithium-ion Battery for power away from dedicated electricity Optical adapters tips Long LCD cables to increase stand-off distance from scope to monitor Internal retrieval tool(s) to remove FO from an engine.
