Grease Traps Cleaning and Maintenance Eielson AFB, AK
Q: The Aurora Event Center is listed in Appendix A of the scope as requiring bi-annual grease trap cleaning and quarterly line cleaning. To properly clean the lines, the grease trap itself should be emptied and cleaned. Does the government want the lines at this site cleaned quarterly or bi-annually to coincide with tank cleaning?
A: Cleaning of the grease trap at the Aurora Event Center shall be performed on a bi-annual basis. Quantities listed within the solicitation document and Attachment 3(Bid Schedule) attachment will be updated to reflect this change.
Q: Attachment 1 (PWS), section 1.1.2. and Appendix A (Cleaning of Lines) table lists cleaning of lines as a quarterly requirement. Attachment 3 (Bid Schedule) only lists a quantity of 10 cleanings per year to be priced. Should the bid sheet quantity listed 40 line cleanings per year, or alternatively 38 if the Aurora Event Center is reduced to bi-annually? Please confirm the quantity to be priced.
A: A quantity of 38 cleanings has been established for line items numbered x002, as a result of clarifying the cleaning frequencies at all grease trap locations. The Aurora Event Center has been confirmed to be serviced bi-annually, which results in a quantity of 38 instead of 40.
Q: Attachment 1 (PWS) section 4.2, Federal Holidays, lists 10 holidays. Attachment 2 (Wage
Determination) dated 1/16/2018 lists a total of 11 holidays with the inclusion of Good Friday.
Please confirm which is correct.
A: Good Friday is not recognized as a holiday by the United States Federal government. Per the included Wage Determination, the contractor shall provide a minimum of 11 paid holidays per year. As such, as stipulated within the Wage Determination, the contractor “may substitute for any of the named holidays another day off with pay in accordance with a plan communicated to the employees involved.”
Q: Please confirm that grease trap water/sludge requiring disposal is at the contractor’s expense to include cost of shipping containers and possible shipment outside of Alaska for disposal at an approved facility.
A: The cost of disposal of waste grease, effluent, et cetera, as a result of performance of grease trap cleaning and maintenance as stipulated within the Performance Work Statement (PWS) shall be that of the contractor. The disposal of waste produced as a result of performance with this contract’s PWS shall be disposed in accordance with (IAW) all applicable Federal, state and local regulations, as defined within the PWS.
