I have the following questions for Solicitation #FA500019QA005 (JBER Building 802 Abatement):
1. Access to piping requiring abatement may be impeded by items currently stored in the warehouse. Will the Owner or their Representative be moving items within the warehouse to provide Contractor access?
No, the contractor will need to move items required to gain access to perform work.
1. Will Building 802 be occupied during the abatement operations? If yes, what areas will be made available to the Contractor and in what sequence?
Yes, there is abatement work going on in a small section (parachute area only) of the building by an abatement contractor, the remaining building (abatement area) will not be occupied until the entire abatement is completed and clearance samples are received.
1. Specification section 2.1.4: states the work includes “The transport and disposal of all removed non-hazardous lead-based paint and asbestos materials, waste and debris, to include preparation and signing of all DOT required manifests.” Will the Owner be responsible for the transport and disposal of Hazardous lead-based paint?
No, all transportation and disposal of waste or debris will be the responsibility of the contractor.
1. Specification section 2.2: states “The plan shall describe, as a minimum the following three sections: 1.2.1, 1.2.2 and 1.2.3.” We do not find the reference sections in the specification. Will these spec. sections be made available?
The reference stated is not in the SOW you are asking about.
1. Specification section 2.9 Facility Equipment Operation: states that Air Circulation systems and air moving equipment shall remain in operation while work is being performed.” Specification section 2.2.18 requires that these systems be sealed and shut down. Please Clarify?
The contractor will be required to protect the interior of building from freezing. If the air circulation system needs to be sealed and shut down to perform the abatement the interior of the building is required to be protected from freezing by the contractor.
