Bldg. 9551:

1. The provided drawings for this project: Can you please specify the areas that will need flooring?

Please provide as‐built drawings for accurate measurements and a competitive estimate. Would be beneficial if we could identify the scope of work to avoid misinterpretation.

See attachments.

2. Installation without demo: Is my understanding that several areas need installation of new flooring, but it is to be installed on top of the existing flooring, can these areas that do not require demo can be identified? Also, please clarify if the existing wall base in these areas is going to be replaced.

All the areas determined as containing asbestos will have to have the flooring removed and new tile/carpet installed. All the other remaining tiled rooms identified in the renovation map will be tiled over existing tile. All carpet is remove and replace.

3. Products specs: Please identify the product specs for this project.

Bldg. 9551 Tile: VCT same as existing or beige.

Carpets: same as existing, dark blue, pile height of 0.41 & face weight between 17‐20, see attached.

4. The completion date: It was observed in the solicitation paperwork indicates that the work should be started ten days after award, and 45 days to complete the project, can this be extended? The reason for this question is because upon award materials for this project would have to be ordered, and being in Alaska there is an estimated time of 14 to 21 days for materials to be ordered and successfully shipped here, that would leave little room in time for installation.

55 days after date of contract is the mandatory completion date.

Bldg. 804:

There was a comment whether the existing wood base cove is to be removed. After a closer look, it appears the wood base cove extends up behind the plywood wainscot. The vinyl floor tiles can be removed without the removal of the existing wood base cove. The existing wood base cove should remain as is to allow a firm surface to attach future rubber base cove if any.

There is approximately 20' of wooden base board that has to be removed where the vending machines currently sit. The rest of the room is painted on concrete and wood to make it look like 4" cove base, that will not be removed.
