SITE VISIT QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. Paragraph 1.1.1 – Illuminated “Follow Me” Signs. The solicitation calls for the contractor to supply follow me vehicles. Furthermore, this paragraph requires that these vehicles be equipped with illuminated “follow me” signs.
(a) Who is responsible for providing the illuminated “follow me” signs for the contractor’s vehicles, the contractor or the government? If the government is responsible for providing these signs, will the government update Appendix 6, “Government Furnished Equipment,” accordingly?
The contractor is responsible for providing the “follow me” signs.
(b) If the government is responsible for providing the illuminated “follow me” signs, how many of these signs are provided for contractor use?
Not applicable.
(c) Who will be responsible for installing the illuminated signs on contractor-furnished vehicles, the contractor or the government?
The contractor is responsible for installing the “follow me” signs on the vehicles.
(d) Will the government provide fuel for follow me trucks?
The contractor provides the fuel for the “follow me” vehicles.
(e) PWS 1.1.1 states "The contractor shall supply sufficient vehicles..." What is the current number of vehicles offered?
The current contractor provides two vehicles.
2. Radios. Who will be responsible for installing radios in the contractor’s vehicles, the contractor or the government?
The government is responsible for the installation of radios.
3. Pintle Hooks
(a) Who will be responsible for providing pintle hooks for the contractor’s vehicles, the contractor or the government?
The government provides pintle hooks that can be used with trailer hitches.
(b) Who will be responsible for installing pintle hooks on the contractor-furnished vehicles, the contractor or the government?
The contractor is responsible for installing trailer hitch assemblies on their vehicles.
4. Civilian Aircraft. Yesterday while going thru the transit alert turnover log I noticed they have worked on 2 civilian aircraft. The FAA requires that the maintenance personnel working on aircraft under their certificate be licensed. Is there any requirement in this contract for providing Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics?
The contractor is not required to provide Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics. On the occasions when civilian aircraft arrive, the contractor only provides minor assistance to those aircrafts’ own mechanics, and launch and recovery services.

5. Lavatory Service. PWS Para 1.4.1.3 infers "provide" lavatory service cart, Please confirm the contractor is required to provide a lavatory cart? Secondly what is the number of lavatory servicing's per month can be expected?
The government provides the lavatory service cart. This service is required approximately 2 to 4 times per month.
6. Contract Management: PWS 1.2.1 Please confirm whether the the managment control function must be manned all the time or can it be combined with line work.
The mangement control function can be combined with line work as long as the Contractor can be reach via radio. MCF usually knows the flow of aircraft per day unless an emergency occurs.

(b) What is the current monthly invoice amount?
Approximately $18,000
(c) What is the current manning level?
That information belongs to the incumbent contractor.
(d) When does the current contract expire?
30 September 2010
8. Quality Control Plan: When is the contractor’s quality control plan required to be submitted by?
Within 30 days of contract award
