Contractor Questions and Answers:
All of the containers we would provide are used containers. Therefore, they have damage to the sides and roofs in the form of dents and scrapes. Some have been repaired and patches welded to containers.
Patches are water tight. Are these acceptable?
Yes
Most of the containers have some light rust to heavy rust are these acceptable? Rust would be painted over.
Light rust, painted over is acceptable. Heavy rust is not acceptable.
Do you have a paint specification or will we be allowed to select the type of paint?
Must be tan in color
You stated that you wanted 8’x8’x20’ and 8’x8’x40’ containers. The containers we have are 8’x8.5’x20’ and 8x9.5’x40’. Are these acceptable? Do all of the containers have to be the same height?
Slight deviations in heigh are expected due to different manufactureres. Yes, we need them at the same height, +/‐ 2” due to the way that the containers will be used.
Will you unload containers?
Yes
Do we have to include taxes in our bid or are you tax exempt?
Yes, the government is tax exempt.
Will you take delivery of containers on Saturday?
No, normal delivery hours are 8:00AM‐6:00PM Monday – Friday.
Do the containers have to be manufactured in the United States? Most are made overseas.
No, overseas manufacturers are acceptable.
