1. Has a protype been tested?

Yes, but not at this base.

2. If yes, what is the RFID / Barcode supplier chosen?

Requirements in the statement of work need to be met.

3. If yes, where will the tag going be placed on the weapon? On the barrel?

The tag will go under the grip on the handle of the M9 and the lower receiver of the M4.

4. If yes, what is the mobile handheld Bar Code RFID reader desired?

We are Zebra Motorola and Impinj integrators. However, if you have specific hardware needs we can supply this too.

5. If no, is this a request for product development?

No.

6. Section E, Days On Site installation for each location. How many locations? Are they at all USAF bases? Are they both in the USA and other Countries? Is a ship in a box solution desired? We do this today for Fitness Assessment RFID solution all over the world for USAF, so this is likely a good option.

One location at Cannon AFB, NM.

7. Section E, barcode. Has a bar code been selected? Please identify the manufacture?

8. Web Support. GCSS-A. Will you sponsor the winner for GCSS-A, Fort Huachuca, AZ, for Certification of Networthyness?

No.

9. 5 year no questions asked warranty replacement, included.

Yes and a lifetime License is included as well.

10. Lifetime tech support with purchase of 5 year lump sum warranty as a time reader.

11. G. Hardware. Please designate the Smartrak RFID tag desired?

5K plastic black passive RFID tags must measure 5K Ceramic RFID tags black with epoxy.

12. G. Hardware. Has the purchaser considered Omni RFID tags that are optimized for use on metal?

13. G. Hardware. What is the RFID read range?

12 foot.

14. G SmartTrack RFID reader. This is taken as a reader that will read Smarttrack tags?

15. Safe Thread technology? If not Safe Thread then capped threads?

16. Please designate Clear Over Spray desired?

Requirements in the statement of work need to be met.

17. Please designate Metal Tag manufacture and quantity desired?

There isn't a requirement for Metal Tags listed.

18. Please designate DOD CAC card reader manufacturer desired?

It doesn't matter.

19. 3. The use of words, "Operational Concept:" This leads us to believe this is product development and not a commodity buy of an existing system?

Commodity buy of an existing system that is already in place at other bases.

20. What Is the manufacturer of heads up display desired?

21. What is the manufacturer of active RFID tags?

Requirements in the statement of work need to be met.

22. Are the active RFID tags semi active or fully active or both?

Passive RFID tags

23. Do the RFID active tags "always on", "power up", or are "blinking"?

Tags are passive.

24. Is this solution attempting to unify all disparate asset tracking system into "one" working system that is currently used by USAF?

No.

25. If yes, does the user understand that there are identification systems that are obsolete and non-functional in the USAF inventory, and it may not be cost effective to fix some of them?

N/A

26. An FYI you may already know; Sagem-Morpho provides finger print technology to the FBI, Scotland Yard and Interpol. Their finger print readers are very quick, reliable and rugged. We have installed these for the FAA for Tarmac security at airports. At Sea-Tac they have been working trouble free for over 10 years. Finger print In conjunction with the CAC & Weapons Card it may be a good fit. In prior work, the US Army determined that finger prints ID could replace the weapons card.

N/A this is being installed in an armory that is manned 24/7 and will be primarily used for up to the minute inventory of weapons that are in the armory.
