1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES.

The contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary to repair the Detroit Diesel Engine M/N 8162-7400, S/N 16VFO7235

1.1 REQUIREMENTS.

The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor and materials required to repair Detroit Diesel Engine using new OEM parts in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and this PWS, Inspect forward/rear engine gear train for excessive clattering noise. Once clattering noise has been identified with findings, and it is determined that the engine can be rebuilt continue tearing down the engine for a minor engine overhaul. All replacement parts and labor furnished by the repair facility shall carry a warranty period of one yr. The following objectives for repairing the equipment shall be met:

a. Two (2) turbo Chargers (P/N 23503042)

b. Two (2) blowers (P/N R23503027)

c. Four (4) cylinder heads (P/N R23504272A)

d. Cylinder head Bolts/washers (P/N5148324/5148310)

d. 16 piston/liner kits (P/N 23524340)

e. 16 injectors (P/N R5235670) Jumper line o-rings (P/N 8928676)

f. One (1) fuel pump (P/N decided by repair facility)

g. Four (4) thermostats 170 degree (P/N 23503826)

h. Crankshaft bearings set/thrust washers (P/N 5149565/5117005)

i. 16 sets piston rod bearings (P/N 5149572)

j. Four (4) sets camshaft bearing (P/N decided by repair facility)

k. One (1) overhaul gasket set (P/N decided by repair facility)

l. Two (2) Jabsco raw water pumps (P/N decided by repair facility to either repair or replace)

m. Exhaust manifold bolts (P/N 23509245) (use never seize on bolt installation)

n. All fuel/water hoses and clamps (P/N decided by repair facility)

o. Exhaust manifold gaskets (P/N decided by repair facility) Note: Any additional parts required but not identified in the above parts listing shall be included in the venders bid quotation.

. The following items shall be reused during the repairs:

a. Four (4) exhaust manifolds

b. One (1) Fresh water pump

c. One hydraulic governor/linkage/ emergency stop solenoid/linkage

d. Four (4) valve covers

e. 24 V starter/solenoid/wiring

The following engine parts shall be furnished by the Government:

a. One (1) Fuel cooler (P/N 23512373)

b. One (1) Sendur heat exchanger (P/N 9178)

c. One (1) Oil pump (P/N 5129876)

d. Two (2) oil coolers (P/N 8547552)

1.2 Maintenance Standards: Contractor shall contact the manufacturer or other authorized service provider for any commercial maintenance manuals, specifications, parts lists, and technical assistance.

4. GENERAL INFORMATION

4.1. Security Requirements. The contractor shall comply with all security requirements identified by Security Forces at the contractor access point of Tyndall AFB to be escorted to the delivery location.

4.2. Delivery. The contractor is responsible for transportation of the vehicle to the Vendor’s location and return to Tyndall AFB once repairs are completed.

4.3. Warranty. Contractor shall offer the Government a warranty consistent with standard commercial practice.

4.4. Place of Performance. All work performed in accordance with this PWS shall be at the contractor’s place of business. Contractor’s place of business shall be within a 100 mile radius of Bldg 560, Alabama Ave Tyndall AFB, FL 32403, to allow government quality assurance inspection, if required.

4.5. Period of Performance. The contractor shall complete the repair/refurbishment of the equipment within 45 calendar days after receiving the equipment.

4.6. Remedy for non-performance. Procedures as set forth in the FAR 52.212-4 (a), Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, Inspection/Acceptance, will be used to remedy all deficiencies.
