TRAILER MOUNTED LOAD BANK REQUIREMENT

Civil Engineer Maintenance Inspection Repair Team requires an upgraded mobile load bank to execute Air Force Instruction (AFI) required testing of Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) generators located throughout Air Force installation across the United States. This load bank will be towed by our diesel pickup trucks enabling non Commercial Driver License (CDL) drivers to travel and execute load bank testing.

LOADBANK FEATURES NEEDED:

Summary: Digital Load Bank W/Data Acquisition/logging ability, Integrated design, 1500kW Resistive Load, 480 Volt, 240V, 208V selection ability; Trailer Mounted, Triple Axle with Electric Brakes, three phase Cable Reels, grounding reel, Vulcanized CAM-LOCK Style Connection Panel. All cabling and connectors should be rated for 4/0AWG parallel load ability up to the 1500kW capacity of the load bank. Must comply with NEMA, NEC, and ANSI standards. Quality control system is certified to ISO9001 standards.

‐ Load Capacity: Resistive load only, 1500kW capacity at 480VAC, 3-Phase, 60Hertz.

Require dual voltage control power transformer for control circuit operation

- Duty: Rated for continuous operation. Vertical exhaust hatches with direct coupled cooling fan blade @ 20,000 CFM per exhaust frame.

- Load Connections: Load connection box with bus bars for load power. Bus bars should have standard NEMA hole patterns. Vulcanized Cam-Lock style connectors mounted on the load bank with snap lock covers. Minimum of 6 per phase.

- Controller: Local manual toggle switch controller. Controls include: Power On/Off switch, Blower Start/ Stop push buttons, Master Load On/Off switch, and Individual Load Step switches.

Visual indicators include: Power On, Blower On, and Blower/Air Failure. Must have local and remote digital control capabilities. Capable of detecting and identifying system malfunctions.

- Instrumentation: Advanced Digital Monitoring System (ADMS) for display of Volts, Amps, Frequency, and kW. To include Data Logging Software.

- Load Step Resolution: 5kW minimum

- Cooling Fan Motor: Must be internally powered, 3-phase, fully protected with fuses, motor starter contactor, and overload relay.

- Safety Features: Branch circuit fusing, a differential pressure switch provides cooling air loss protection, over-temperature switch to sense load bank exhaust temperature, blower motor circuit protection by current limiting fuses, and thermal overload relays.

- Enclosure: Heavy-gauge aluminized steel outdoor enclosure with high quality baked polyester powder coated finish designed for continuous outdoor weatherproof operation. Forklift channels are provided in the base for lifting.

- Travel Cover: Heavy Duty Vinyl tarp cover provided for use during transport and storage.

TRAILER FEATURES:

- Trailer: (Pintle-hook) Integrated Triple axle with torsion suspension trailer with minimum 10,000lb capacity, electric braking system with breakaway system and running lights

- Four Cable Reels: Three each reels with 1,200ft of cable. One grounding reel with 800ft of cable. Vulcanized CAM-LOK Style color coded 480V connection (factory assembled), J-Series E1016, rubber, vulcanized, crimp connection incorporated into cable reel assembly at 100ft intervals. Cable must be diesel locomotive cable extra flexible, Type W, 90 degree, rated for 2,000 volts). Cable reels must be electrically operated with ability to free spool.

- Cable Reel Cover: Lockable cable reel covers and/or storage doors to prevent cable theft

‐ Trailer must be DOT certified legal, capable of highway speeds and capable of being pulled by a dual wheeled pickup truck

- Heavy duty welded construction with steel deck.

‐ Trailer lights must be LED.

- Equipped with rear stabilizer jacks.

‐ Tires should be load range E and come with spare tire of same rating.

‐ Cable reels should be in the rear, opposite the trailer tongue for easier access and loading.

- Include extra cable/tool storage box on trailer tongue area. Size commensurate with available space.
