9TH MAINTENANCE SQUADRON (ACC)
BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, CALIFORNIA

MEMORANDUM FOR 9 CONS/LGCB
FROM: 9 MXS/CCRA
SUBJECT: Statement of Need for Two Mobile Office Trailers
1. Purpose: The Flight Line Crew shack is used for everyday maintenance of the T-38 Aircraft, IMDS, and Flight Crew Debrief of maintenance issues.
2. Background: T-38 personnel are being relocated to accommodate the renovation of Dock 7, building 1243. To support the flying mission during the renovation, their maintenance facility will be temporarily moved to Dock 2, building 1075. Dock 2 does not have the additional office facilities to house the added personnel. Renovation of Dock 7, building 1243 is projected to take 3 years.
Corrosion control personnel performing maintenance in building 1071 are exposed to barium/strontium chromate and requires renovation and ventilation upgrades to become compliant. The exposure is above the action level, but below the OSHA permissible exposure standards. Areas outside the active corrosion control booths and cabinets should not have any heavy metal contaminants detected in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1026, Toxic and Hazardous Substances Chromium (VI). Renovation of building 1071 is projected to take 3 years.
3. Impact: Acquiring mobile office trailers will provide T-38 and corrosion control personnel an OSHA approved facility to perform office related tasks supporting the 9th Reconnaissance Wing’s flying mission.
Additionally, it will provide personnel protection from environmental elements supporting a proper work/rest cycle due to extreme temperatures.
4. Requirements: The mobile office trailers will require the following features:
(2) 12’ x 56’ trailers Insulated windows, ceilings and floors Aluminum or wood siding
(2) 36” x 80” lockable steel exterior doors Stairs with handrails at one entrance Wheel Chair accessible ramp at the other entrance Fluorescent lighting Electric heating and AC with thermostat Separate office space divided with interior wall and lockable door 120 volt outlets Internet ports
5. Delivery: Need trailer delivered and mobilized by August 21st 2018
6. General Scope: The contractor shall provide delivery to Beale Air Force Base, California (2 separate locations on Beale AFB). Additionally, the contractor is responsible for mobilization and demobilization upon delivery and pick-up.
