Required Heat Treating Oven Specifications

Type: Single chamber, electrically heated draw batch series oven used for processing of aerospace metal components.

Warranty: 3 years which covers all materials for all components (less wear items); components covered include, but are not limited to: recirculation, exhaust, temperature controllers, high-limit instruments, & recorders; disconnect switches; power distribution blocks; terminal blocks; transformers; fuse blocks;

selector switches & push buttons; pilot & beacon light assemblies; process & purge timers; SSR & SCR’s; contactors; relays; alarm horns; pressure switches; limit switches; vent fans; power supplies; variable frequency drives; etc. as applicable to the equipment quoted; labor is included for defects in workmanship

Temperature Rating: Maximum - 1,200deg F Minimum – 250deg F

Qualified Operating Temperature Range: 250 deg F to 1,200 deg F

Temperature Uniformity Survey (TUS): Ensure ±10°F at set points of 250deg F, 800deg F, and 1,200deg F; TUS conducted at production facility prior to shipment to verify the equipment has the capability to meet the requirements of AMS 2750E, Class 2 furnaces and Instrumentation Type D, along with requirement outlined in AMS2770N or most recent revisions.

Provide documentation of the TUS results and final adjustments to obtain the tolerance shown above at the production facility prior to shipment.

Effective Work Zone Dimensions: 2'0" wide x 2'0" high x 5'0" deep

Overall Work Zone Dimensions: 3'4" wide x 3'6" high x 6'6" deep

Overall: 7'0" wide x 12'0" high (to top of door mast) x 8'9" long

Construction: Walls and ceiling feature “CAN” style construction and includes 2" of ceramic blanket, backed with 4" of 6# density, industrial board type insulation (1,200° F service temperature rating), for a total of 6";outer shell fabricated of 3/16" carbon steel plate, reinforced as required with structural steel; oven front fabricated of 1/2" carbon steel plate; oven inner shell and ductwork fabricated of 18 gauge 304 stainless steel; with pin construction to allow for expansion; floating header to allow for expansion

Oven Door: One (1) vertical lift, pneumatically operated door at the front of the oven; the air cylinder is permanently lubricated and the filter regulator is included; no door gasket required for the door seal due to the fiber blanket door design: the door will cam inward for sealing; lockable hand valve for the door located on the same side of the oven as the control panel; one (1) door limit switch provided to shut the power off to the heating elements when the door begins to open; manual safety latch

Recirculation: 10,000 CFM @ 15 HP; motor complying with NEMA Premium Efficiency Standards; plug-mounted blower with V-belt drive & durable guards;

roof mounted; combination air flow through the work chamber, with the majority of air supplied under the work, to flow vertically upward past and through the product; airflow safety switch: high volume, high velocity adjustable "H" pattern

Exhaust: Motor operated dampers (exhaust & fresh air)

Hearth: Two (2) stainless steel pier rails ½" thick on 20" centers designed for fork truck loading; hearth rated at a capacity of 2,000 pounds gross loading; hearth height from the shop floor to the top of the rails will be 32"

Heating Equipment: 96 kW heat input at the voltage indicated below under “Utility Requirements”; incoloy sheathed elements; SSR power control with back-up contactors; heaters wired individually so if one fails, the oven will continue to operate until maintenance can be scheduled

Controls and Instruments: Located in a NEMA 12 enclosure mounted on the right side of the oven with the instruments and controls mounted on the control cabinet door, including the following major components:

· digital Eurotherm 3504 programmable temperature controller (25 programs with 500 segments); fast acting advanced auto-tune function; 0.1% PV accuracy; Ethernet communications

· Eurotherm Nanodac paperless digital recorder with 50 MB of flash memory; 4 universal inputs; 3 ½" full color VGA display, rear USB port (for downloading data), and Ethernet (10/100 base T; Protocols Modbus TCP, FTP) communication capabilities

· digital oven high limit instrument, FM approved, with manual reset

· digital process high limit instrument, FM approved, with manual reset

· IEC style motor starters, push buttons and pilot lights (to indicate status), fused branch circuits, 110 volt control transformer and blower interlocks

· main power disconnect switch with interlock

Insurance & Other Specifications: FM, NEC, NFPA 79 & 86 recommended equipment;

Utility Requirements:

· Electrical - 480 volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz; approximately 150 full load amps

· Compressed Air - 100 PSIG (filter-regulator included)

Other: Thermocouple check port (3/4" NPT, BI) with cap, through side-wall, for insertion of test wires into the work chamber and TC jack panel Paint: The equipment will be painted the following:

· Oven body - heat resistant Grey industrial enamel exterior (the stainless steel interior requires no additional coating); area above door painted hi-heat

· Control panel - grey exterior, white interior

· Guards - OSHA yellow

· Piping and EMT Conduit – Unpainted

Testing: Equipment operated at normal and maximum temperatures prior to shipment; all safety interlocks checked for proper operation; includes a systematic evaluation utilizing a check list with over 150 points; temperature uniformity survey, performed prior to shipment with documentation of successful tests emailed to the purchaser prior to shipment for validation and copies placed in each manual

Manuals: Two (2) digital Owner’s Manuals placed in the control panel at time of shipment

Completion: The equipment will be ready for shipment and/or inspection fifteen

(15) to seventeen (17) weeks after receipt of an order and down payment

Shipping: Shipped in one (1) main oven body section with the door mast split at the roof-line and the roof-mounted blower match-marked & removed for reassembly and rewiring at the final job site.

· UL (508A) certified and labeled control panel with the instruments and controls mounted on the cabinet door

· b. One (1) hard-copy of Owner’s Manual, placed in control panel at time of shipment

Installation: (2) consecutive days of installation, start-up and training at Dyess AFB, TX facility by two (2) non-union factory technicians

a. Assembly and wiring all components removed items from shipment

b. Lagging ovens and quench tanks to foundation

c. Equipment rental and all rigging needed for installation

d. Connecting customer's utilities to our equipment

e. Unloading the equipment and moving to a level foundation at the final job site

f. Debugging and start-up of the equipment

g. Includes training of personnel on the operation and maintenance of the equipment

Preventative Maintenance Inspection Program: Five year program with the first inspection (within 12 months of shipment). Program includes: all living and traveling expenses; inspection of the equipment and review of our preventive maintenance program and documentation of maintenance performed (as listed in the Service Inspection Report). Also, includes recertification of TUS and replacement of common wear items.

Refresher Training on a Five (5) year basis: Includes training of personnel on the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
