Specifications
SCBA Air Compressor unit salient characteristics:
1. Manufacturer/Model: Bauer Vertecon 7000 psi Compressor (Part Number: VTC-7K/20) *Or Equal*
a. The Air Compressor shall meet NFPA 1989: Standard on Breathing Air Quality for Emergency Services Respiratory Protection.
b. Capable of operating 7000 psi or equivalent
c. The system shall be designed for continuous duty operation indoors with room temperatures ranging between 40°F and 115°F1. Installation shall not require a special foundation.
d. MAX 208 V/ 60 amp/15hp Motor
e. The system shall be tested by the manufacturer prior to shipment.
f. A copy of the manufacturer’s test report shall be available upon request.
g. 4 Cylinder system installed horizontally, max operating pressure 7000 psi or equal to.
2. Containment Fill Station: Bauer Two Position Fill Station (Part number: CFS5.5-2S-7K) *Or Equal* and Bauer ASME 4 Cylinder System (Part Number: ASME-7K-4) *Or Equal*
a. Fill station shall be front-loading, two position; containment fill station shall totally enclose the SCBA or SCUBA1 cylinders during the refilling process.
b. The fill station door and cylinder holder assembly shall tilt out towards the operator, providing unobstructed access to the cylinder holder to load and unload the cylinders.
c. It shall take minimum effort to open or close the fill station door thereby eliminating operator fatigue.
d. Design shall eliminate the need for SCBA cylinder scuff protection and allow for concussive flexure in the event of a ruptured cylinder.
e. Fill station shall include a safety interlock system that will prevent refilling SCBA cylinders unless the fill station door is closed and secured. The automatic interlock shall require no actuation of secondary latching mechanism on the outside of the fill station.
f. Two fill hoses shall be located within the fill station. Each fill hose shall be equipped with a bleed valve and SCBA fill adapter of choice. Fill hose retainers shall be provided to anchor the fill hoses when not in use.
3. Installation
a. The fill station shall be provided on its own freestanding base and shall not exceed the following approximate dimensions: 52-1/4” high, 29-1/2” wide, and 21-1/4” deep.
b. Air compressor and other components must fit through a doorway that measures--34.5in wide x 83in tall
