3RD SET OF VENDOR QUESTIONS
Question 1: Is the design criteria that the "containers" being comprised of modular interlocking panels based on an existing set up or system the AF has used previously or is currently using?
Answer 1: No, we are not currently utilizing a specific interlocking system.
Question 2: If used previously, is this a readily available "off the shelf" system?
Answer 2: We are not utilizing a specific interlocking system at this time. Systems are commercially available.
Question 3: What is the reason for requiring the individual panels, and is there a size or weight limit consideration? Weight per pannel should be limited to what 2 individuals can safely manage, not to exceed 120 pounds.
Answer 3: The Interlocking panels would be utilized to manipulate buildings in support specific/individualized training requirements. This modular ability would allow the training structures to be reconfigured building combinations/scenarios.
Question 4: Does the AF intend to reconfigure using the individual panels or based on a "container" sized units comprised of the individual panels or to reconfigure the "container" sizes shapes?
Answer 4: The word “container’ has been deleted from the CLIN description and replaced with the word
“structure”. The Government intends to reconfigure using both structure reconfiguration and panel reconfiguration.
Question 5: Is there any design requirements for the "integral interlocking" aspect of the panels?
Answer 5: There is no design requirements for interlocking system, other than all buildings (Structures and Shanties) are compatible with each other.
Question 6: What is maximum depth required for caches in floors?
Answer 6 : An 8 inch maximum depth required for caches in floors.
Question 7: Please clarify what is the difference in CLIN 0001, CLIN
0001AA and CLIN 0001AB? It seems like there could be some overlapping of items or costs as both CLIN 0001 and CLIN 0001AB have installation costs.
Answer 7: CLIN 0001 is an overall informational CLIN. CLIN 0001AB is the cost to install and provide training to set up the simulated structures.
Question 8: Please clarify the difference between the structures and the wood shanty? CLIN0001 Is calling the 5 total "structures" a

re-locatable structure in solicitation, and in the answer to question 5 in
Amendment 0001. Also, in the old and new PWS in Amendment 001, they are using the phrase "shanties" for the structure and that they do not have floors. Then in salient characteristics, the structure is differentiated from the wood shanty. Then further on states the training village will consist of-
Answer 8:
Structures - Requirements for sub-flooring and 2 stories high (See attachments for L-Shaped and Split level RHU examples)
Shanties - No sub-floor and 1 story in height
