STATEMENT OF WORK

Replace Primary Air Compressors and Air Dryers in Bldg 1245

1. General Information

a. The air compressors currently installed in Bldg 1245 are too large for the air usage of the building, resulting in excessive energy consumption. The contractor will replace the existing primary air compressors and air dryers with two (2) integrated air compressor/air dryer/air receiver tank units with oil recovery drain system. The system must be ready for use upon completion of the install, to include all electrical, pneumatic and plumbing requirements.

a1. Each air compressor shall be capable of producing 80 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at pounds per square inch (PSI). The compressor shall operate on 460 volt, 3-phase power and be installed with a manual shut-off box to provide the ability to lock-out/tag-out if necessary.

a2. Each air dryer shall be capable of drying/treating 80 CFM at an ambient temperature of 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The air dryer will feature and utilize a control system to operate the air dryer refrigerant compressor when needed. Each air dryer shall utilize an automatic drain valve plumbed to the existing floor drain.

a3. Each receiver tank shall be ASME rated per industry standards and hold at least 100 gallons. A tank mounted system would be acceptable. Potential offerors are encouraged to submit the tank setup that best compliments the quoted system.

a4. Each air compressor, air dryer, and air receiver tank set shall be mounted on common frame and secured to the existing concrete pad. The contractor shall connect the electrical power in accordance with NEC/NFPA/DoD regulations.

a5. The new system must have two (2) compressors and two (2) dryers with self contained oil recovery water drain system for oil disposal.

b. Air compressors, air dryers, and all other items needed to install said air compressors and dryers will be supplied by the contractor. This includes, but is not limited to, electrical components, electrical wiring, conduit, copper pipe, copper fittings, related hardware, chemicals needed to assemble/seal/protect installed components, and securing devices.

c. Contractor will assemble and connect the air compressors and air dryer to vertical air receiver tank currently installed in the building, and will relocate and re-plumb the receiver tank in a manner that is satisfactory to the building custodian or Vehicle Management representative. The contractor will supply materials needed to move and reinstall the receiver tank.

d. The contractor is only responsible for removing the existing units from the room through the large exit doors that go straight outside. The Government would provide a forklift to assist in that process. Once removed from the room, the Government would be responsible for disposal of the units.
