Mobile Production Trailer Questions and Answers
Solicitation: FA461019QA013
1) Q: Will the trailers be required to have a grounding rod package when deployed?
A: No, trailers will not be required to be grounded.
2) Q: What base frame material is required, aluminum or steel frame? (Aluminum will provide maximum life span with ultimate rust prevention & corrosion resistance, but is also lighter than steel & has a stronger per square in yield than steel frame).
A: Both steel or aluminum would be acceptable.
3) Q: Is the floor required to be insulated as well, or just the walls & ceiling? Is a defined R-value rating requested?
A: No special insulation is being required for the floor. However, this is assuming that the floor has industry standard carpet flooring for production trailers that normally provides sufficient sound deadening within the trailer. There is no R-Value rating being requested.
4) Q: Are there specific materials requested for the walls & ceiling, or whatever is standard? Will components be added to the interior walls?
A: No specific materials are being requested for walls and ceiling, so long as the materials being offered are in-line with industry standards for production trailers. Ceiling should be insulated and can be laminate. Components will be added to the interior walls.
5) Q: Has a material for the operator tables been defined? (Aluminum, laminate, stainless steel, etc.)
A: No specific material is being requested for the operator tables.
6) Q: For the exterior lights, do these need to be switched together or independently?
A: Switched together.
7) Q: I did not see a specified quantity of interior 20A receptacles.
A: 8 sets of receptacles, 4 on each side wall equally spaced.
8) Q: To save energy, we could go to all 12V high output LED lighting. This is simply a suggestion…
A: LED lights are acceptable, so long as they offer sufficient lighting, and are compatible with the generator that will be used to provide power to the trailer during missions. Generator provides 120v AC household current.
9) Q: In order to have clearance, we will need to add a pair of bogey wheels under the rear corners of the trailer to prevent the rear door step from dragging and being damaged during transport.
A: Bogey wheels for protection are acceptable.
10) Q: Under section 3.2 the third bullet point – is an 8”x8” door with fibrous bristles an acceptable solution?
A: Yes, an 8”x8” door with fibrous bristles is acceptable, so long as the door provides an air / water light seal when shut.
11) Q: Just below that, the fourth bullet point in section 3.2 – Do you have any existing pictures of this set up on your current trailer? (if available, please supply)
A: Similar to the picture provided below.
12) Q: Is any cabinetry storage or windows required?
A: No cabinetry storage or windows are required.
