STATEMENT OF WORK

Install Astro Turf in K9 Obstacle Course

BACKGROUND

Building 7055 loses approximately 100 training hours annually due to MWD injury, insect infestation and briar thorn bushes in the Military Working Dog (MWD) training yard. Installation of a safe surface is a precursor to a future new and improved agility course to maintain the health of the MWDs.

The base requirement of this Statement Of Work (SOW) is for the contractor to provide Pet Turf (ASFPL921 Soft Lawn Bluegrass Blend, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Pile Height 1 ¾” (+/- 1/8”), Backing: 20oz Polyurethane, Roll Width: 15’, color(s): Field, Field/Olive, Padding added under Turf: 3mm Foam Pad, Concrete Removal, Dirt Work, Installation and Installation Materials).

CONSTRAINTS

There are no constraints at this time.

GENERAL

This SOW specifies and defines the General Requirements and Specifications of this project. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision necessary to provide training surface for the MWD Training yard. The Contractor shall perform all other related or incidental work as required to finish the project and provide a complete and operational project. All minor items of work that are manifestly necessary or customary shall be performed as fully set forth and described in the SOW.

Practice OPSEC per AFI 10-701 Chap 8, Para 8.1 – 8.2.7.4. Anything given to the contractor by 2 CES labeled FOUO must be cross shredded after project close out.

PRINCIPLE FEATURES OF WORK DIVISION

01 – GENERAL CONDITIONS

· The Contractor shall conduct a field survey of the project area to determine the necessary grading to achieve a minimum 1% and maximum 2% slope.

· The Contractor shall provide portable toilets for workers on this project site. Access to the facility for bathroom needs will not be permitted.

· The Contractor shall provide critical path method schedule in MS Excel or Word 2010 that clearly details major milestones and critical inspection points. Updates shall be provided by the Contractor if/when any of these dates are modified.

02 – SITE WORK

· The Contractor shall dispose of all excavated soil, concrete obstacles and all other debris at an approved off base disposal area.

03 – EARTHWORK

· The Contractor shall grub and clear the soil in the area which the surface is to be installed.

· The Contractor shall use clean fill as necessary and minimally compact the fill to provide minimum 1% and maximum 2% grade to allow for proper drainage.

04 – EXTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS

· The Contractor shall install artificial turf per the manufacturer’s installation procedures with the following properties.

· ASFPL921 Soft Lawn Bluegrass Blend

· Polyethylene and Polypropylene

· Pile Height 1 ¾” (+/- 1/8”)

· Backing: 20oz Polyurethane

· Roll With: 15’

· Color(s): Field, Field/Olive

· 3mm Foam Pad for under the Turf
