FA4600-18-R-0016 Questions and Answers
1. Question: Removal note #6, “Perform rubblization on P.C. concrete pavement”. Please provide clarification on this note. What size requirement will the contractor be required to break down the pavement?
Answer: See Spec section “BASE COURSE FROM RUBBLIZED CONCRETE PAVEMENTS” Para 3.6
RUBBLIZATION CRITERIA
2. Question: Will the government consider issuing a requirement for all contractors to demo, load and haul away the existing pavement and crush the pavement into recycled concrete and resuse it for the base stabilization?
Answer: All bids should be submitted in accordance with the attached specifications.
3. Questions: At the site visit steel columns were discovered in the pavement throughout, will the contractor be required to remove, and or cut the steel columns?
Answer: All columns and footings shall be treated like utilities per GENERAL NOTE 9 on sheet 3 and 4.
