Questions & Answers – 6 Feb 2018
1. We note that the delivery and installation is on the second floor.
• Is there an elevator available for use? A large elevator is available for use, in addition to the stairwells.
• Is there a loading doc available? There is a small first-floor loading dock behind the facility (door opening 5’) accessible by truck.
• Is there area near the building that we can use for staging? Delivery can be staged in a parking lot outside the security gate. Each truck will have to process through the gate for inspection prior to unloading.
2. Are we permitted to dispose of trash and recycling materials at the base facility? The bulk of packing materials will have to be removed from the premises and disposed of elsewhere..
3. Is this a renovation of an existing building or furniture addition for a new building construction?
This is a total renovation project of an existing building. The building may be ready for furniture delivery by late March (optimistic). It is more likely that move-in will begin in April or May.
4. When will the building be ready to receive furniture? A plan indicating the 2nd-floor furniture layout has been attached to this message for your reference.
5. On the refrigerators: How many left side open and how many right side open? The floorplan/roomplan will help to determine the door opening side. If not designated we will quote all to open from the same side. We have not yet determined a preference on the number of L/R-opening refrigerators.
7. The Statement Of Need indicates a requirement for seventy-four (74) twin size beds to accommodate a 39” x 80” Twin Xl mattress. Yes, these were requested in an updated SoN that was sent to A1C Byrne on 8 Dec.
8. The Statement of Need does not specify that mattresses are also to be quoted. Would you please confirm whether mattresses are to be quoted also? Yes, these were requested in an updated SoN that was sent to A1C Byrne on 8 Dec.
9. Another question to the ones already presented below in the series of emails.
10. We notice on the SF1449 that there is no Item # (CLIN) for Freight/Delivery and Installation (and other ancillary services). The Form 9 was submitted for an estimated total, to include delivery & installation. If these services need to be separate CLINs, please let us know and the RA will adjust accordingly.
11. Will you be issuing and Amendment to include these services as requested by the Statement of Need document? See updated SoN from December, also attached.
