Pre-Proposal Offeror Questions and Government Responses Small Paving Questions

1. Q: Please clarify whether or not bid bonds are required.

A: Bid bonds not required.

2. Q: Please clarify whether or not Past Performance information is required.

A: Evaluation will be made based on price.

3. Q: Please clarify whether or not storm drains and concrete curb & gutter are included in the scope of work.

A: Storm drains and concrete curb and gutter sections are to remain as is. They are not part of the scope of work.

4. Q: Is prime coat required?

A: Prime coat will be the option of the contractor. It is not required.

5. Q: Spec. section 32 11 13 / 3.5.7 - Proof Rolling seems to have a typo regarding the vehicle size to be used. Please clarify.

A: Since it is not an airfield pavement, any size vehicle may be used as long as it can provide the results stated in the specifications.

6. Q: Is pavement marking included in the scope of work?

A: Pavement marking is not included in the scope of work.

7. Q: Please provide a plan and clarify the depth and extent of pavement removal and replacement at Building 761.

A: Asphalt and base course will be removed to a depth of 3 inches below existing grade for the project at Building 761. Asphalt and base course will be removed to a depth of 2 inches below existing grade for the project at building 848.

8. Q: Please clarify scope of work, particularly full depth repair, patching and sealing.

A: Removed asphalt and base course will be replaced with 3 inches of Hot-mix asphalt at building 761. Removed asphalt and base course will be replaced with 2 inches of Hot-Mix asphalt at building 848. Exposed base course will need to be compacted to the requirements of the specifications at both sites.

9. Q: Please clarify the purpose of Attachment 1 - PA0120 Specs.

A: The project for 120 is no longer part of this contract.

10. Q: Please clarify the performance period. The solicitation shows both 90 and 120 days in sections 10 and 11 and also in section F.

A: The performance period shall be 120 days.

11. Q: Will this project require a CPM schedule?

A: Yes this project will require a CPM schedule.
