Question Answered 13 June 2017

1. Q: The revised plans for this project still have some discrepancies between the hatching and the plan notes that make it hard to understand what they are wanting. Can you tell me if the loop road is supposed to be new 6” Concrete or new 6” Asphalt, sheet CP-101? The hatching shows concrete and the note says asphalt.

A: Note 2 should be Note 3. The loop is 6" of Concrete.

7. Q: Spec section 32 01 16.17 - The spec requires that a 1-1/4" maximum size of the milled material.

This will require further processing of the milled material after milling and will add significant expense due to the small amount of material that will be salvaged. Can this requirement be waived?

A: Yes if milling machinery is unsuitable to provide the desired size this requirement can be waived.

8. Q: Spec section 32 11 12 - Aggregate Base specification makes 2 references to No. 635 Sieve. This seems to be a typo.

A: Correct should be “a. Sieve Analysis”.

9. Q: Spec section 32 11 12 requires proof rolling with a four tired roller with each tire weighing at least 30,000 pounds. I think this must be a typo.

A: Correct 3.5.7 is only required for Airfield Pavement and would not apply to this project.
