1. GENERAL:

3. EXECUTION:
3.1 GENERAL:
3.1.1 Execute cutting, fitting, and patching to complete work, and to:
3.1.1.1 Fit the several parts together, to integrate with
other work.
3.1.1.2 Uncover work to install ill-timed work.
3.1.1.3 Remove and replace defective and non-conforming work.
3.1.1.4 Remove samples of installed work for testing.
3.1.1.5 Provide openings in elements of work for penetrations of mechanical and electrical work.
3.2 INSPECTION:
3.2.1 Inspect existing conditions, including elements subject to damage or movement during cutting and patching.
3.2.2 After uncovering, inspect conditions affecting performance of work.
3.2.3 Beginning of cutting or patching means acceptance of existing conditions.
3.3 PREPARATION:
3.3.1 Provide supports to assure structural integrity of
surroundings; devices and methods to protect other portions of project from damage.
3.3.2 Provide protection from elements for areas which may be exposed by uncovering work; maintain excavations free of water.
3.4 PERFORMANCE:
3.4.1 Execute work by methods to avoid damage to other work, and which will provide proper surfaces to receive patching and finishing.
3.4.2 Cut rigid materials using masonry saw or core drill.
Pneumatic tools not allowed.

3.4.3 Restore work with new products.
3.4.4 Fit work airtight to pipes, sleeves, ducts, conduit, and other penetrations through surfaces.
3.4.5 To retain integrity of fire resistance at penetrations of fire-rated wall, ceiling, or floor construction, completely seal voids with fire-rated material, full thickness of the construction element.
3.4.6 Refinish surfaces to match adjacent finishes. For continuous surfaces, refinish to nearest intersection; for an assembly, refinish entire unit.

SECTION 01100-1
DIVISION 01 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
SECTION 01100
SUMMARY OF WORK
1.1 LOCATION OF WORK: The work is located in the Missile Alert Facilities. See location map on Drawing Sheet No. 01 of the project drawing set for locations. The work is in a restricted area.
1.2 ATTACHMENTS: Attachments for this section are as follows:
1.2.5 Contract Progress Schedule (AF IMT 3065) and Contract Progress Report (AF IMT 3065) are included in Attachment No. 01.
1.2.6 The project drawing set consisting of five drawing sheets are included separately.
1.3 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project includes the following work:
1.3.1 Demolish the existing zone fire alarm devices, wiring, control panel, and incidental features as shown on the drawing set. The existing raceway system may be reused to feed new devices.
1.3.2 Install new fully addressable combination fire alarm and mass notification system as shown on the drawing set. Extend the existing raceway system to accommodate new device locations and connections.
1.4 CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS SCHEDULE: The contractor shall prepare and submit to the Contracting Officer for approval prior to construction beginning a Construction Progress Schedule (AF IMT 3064, see Attachment No.
01) showing the order in which the contractor proposes to perform the work.
The schedule shall separate the work into phases developed in cooperation with the Government. The schedule shall include the dates on which the contractor contemplates starting and completing the salient elements of the work. The contractor shall also specifically identify on each Contract Progress Report (AF IMT 3065, see Attachment No. 01), any apparent, anticipated or proposed deviation from the previously approved schedule.
1.5 DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS: At least one set of specifications and drawings shall be kept at the job site by the contractor's job supervisor or foreman.
1.6 QUALITY CONTROL: The contractor shall provide a quality control inspector who is familiar with all phases of operation. This individual may be the same person as the job supervisor or foreman. The quality control

inspector's responsibility shall be to make constant quality control inspections of all phases of the operation, in order to assure constant compliance with the contract specifications.
1.7 CONTRACTOR’S USE OF PREMISES: The Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Missile Alert Facility (MAF) is under the control of and within the vicinity of the 91st Missile Wing, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. The MAF is a continuously manned, secure installation. Specific security and access regulations apply. The general work areas are shown on the drawings. All work areas are within the secured areas and require a Government inspector/escort at all times. The Contractor shall conform to all requirements of MAFBI ISI 31-101 and AFSPCI 31-1101.
1.7.1 Owner Occupancy: The site is an operational facility.
Adhere to all applicable United States Air Force (USAF) regulations and procedures regarding security, site access, inspection, and safety.
Continued functional use of sites by the USAF is required. The MAF control and security functions shall remain in operation.
1.7.2 Construction Operations: USAF controls the sites, the 25-foot perimeter area outside the security fence, and the access road easement.
Property outside the above defined areas is not under USAF control and the Contractor shall not trespass, but shall first obtain written permission from the landowner, if necessary, for equipment storage, stating the U.S.
Government shall be held harmless from any damage caused by the Contractor during duty and non-duty hours for use of the private land. The Contractor shall be responsible for any negotiations concerning construction easement and storage of materials on private lands.
1.7.2.1 Contractor vehicles and trailer shall be allowed to
park inside the security fence to deliver materials or equipment required to support the work under this contract. Vehicles and equipment trailers shall be allowed on site during work performance only and shall not remain parked inside the security fence overnight with the exception of one (1) trailer.
Contractor vehicles and equipment will be placed so as not to interfere with gates, emergency escape routes, antennae and other aboveground structures or the helicopter pad. No equipment shall be parked and no materials stockpiled within 100 feet of the outer edge of the helicopter pad. Vehicles may be parked in the Air Force access area but any such parked vehicles must be clear of the boundary fence by a minimum of 25 feet and a minimum of 50 feet from the centerline of the access road.
1.7.2.2 The Contractor will be permitted to store
construction materials on site (with the approval of the Government inspector/escort). The Contractor shall be responsible for arranging for storage of all other construction equipment and materials during the course of the project.

1.7.2.3 Once equipment and supplies are brought inside the
fence, Government inspector/escort personnel are required to accompany and advise Contractor personnel in placement and removal of such items. The Government shall not be responsible for loss of Contractor material, tools, or equipment.
1.7.2.4 The Contractor shall clean up the work area debris
and shall ensure the security of equipment, tools, and work/contract materials is accomplished before the end of the 10-hour workday.
1.7.3 Site Work Schedule: The work hours shall be 0730 to 1800 Monday through Thursday, except Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Federal Holidays, and days indicated as no-work days in the contract. The schedule shall include the sequence of work that will be performed and the dates on which work will be started and completed.
1.7.4 Coordination:
1.7.4.1 Coordinate work of the various Sections of the
Specification to assure efficient and orderly sequence of installation of construction elements, with provisions for accommodating items installed later.
1.7.4.2 Verify characteristics of elements of interrelated
operating equipment are compatible; coordinate work of various Sections having interdependent responsibilities for installing, connecting to, and placing in service, such equipment.
1.7.4.3 Coordinate space requirements and installation of
mechanical and electrical work, which are indicated diagrammatically on the Drawings. Follow routing shown for pipes, ducts, and conduits as closely as practicable; make runs parallel with lines of building. Utilize spaces efficiently to maximize accessibility for other installations, for maintenance, and for repairs.
1.7.4.4 In finished areas (except as otherwise shown) conceal pipes, ducts, and wiring in the construction. Coordinate locations of fixtures and outlets with finish elements.
1.7.4.5 Execute cutting and patching to integrate elements of work; uncover ill-timed, defective, and non-conforming work; provide openings for penetrations of existing surfaces; and provide samples for testing. Seal penetrations through floors, wall, and ceilings.
1.7.4.6 The Contractor shall not cover up any new materials
until accepted by the Contracting Officer or his Technical Representative.
SECTION 01100-4
1.8 ENTRY AND SITE REGULATIONS:
1.8.1 Entry: In order to gain entry onto a facility, Contractor personnel must be listed on an Entry Authorization List (EAL), identified by Government inspector/escort personnel, and physically escorted on site by authorized Government inspector/personnel.
1.8.1.1 Twenty (20) working days prior to the initial
commencement of work, the Contractor must submit to the Contracting Officer one EAL with five submittal cover sheets, showing the full name (EXACTLY as it appears on the ID), birth date, Social Security Number (SSN), and two (2) forms of credentialed ID for each employee being utilized for on-site work (one of which must be photo). Only the following are acceptable: passport, state-issued driver’s license, state-issued photo identification, Social Security card, or Base identification (if issued for prior on-base work only). The Contractor must include with the EAL submittal a photocopy of all of the IDs to be used. One of the forms of identification must have a SSN on
it. This list will be used to prepare the EAL referenced above. Foremen, supervisors, and superintendents must be identified as such on the Contractor's list for identification on the EAL. Deletions to the EAL may be made without preparing a new list but must be requested by the Contractor in writing. However, a new list must be submitted by the Contractor for any addition or change to the EAL. All requested changes in writing to an approved list submitted between the 1st and 15th of the month inclusive shall be in place by the end of that month. All requested changes in writing to an approved list submitted between the 16th and end of the month inclusive shall be in place by the 15th of the following month.
1.8.1.2 Upon arrival at the MAF, Contractor personnel will
contact the Flight Security Controller (FSC) using the gate intercom telephone and inform the FSC of their presence at the security gate.
Contractor personnel must remain outside of the security fence and in or near their vehicle until the arrival of the Government inspector/escort.
1.8.1.3 Upon arrival, the Government inspector/escort will
identify and search all Contractor personnel. All Contractor personnel will provide the Government inspector/escort with two (2) forms of identification as listed above (one being photo) stating the employee’s full name and SSN.
These two forms of identification shall be the same two forms of ID used to generate the EAL. The Contractor's vehicles will be checked and possibly searched prior to site entry. Contractor vehicles shall be clearly marked identifying each contracting firm.
1.8.1.4 If Contractor personnel are not listed on the EAL, or those who are listed cannot provide proper identification, they will not be permitted on the site. Delays caused by lack of proper EAL data or proper identification shall be at no cost to the Government.
SECTION 01100-5
1.8.1.5 Restricted Area. The work to be performed is in a
restricted area. Therefore, the Contractor shall conform to all requirements of MAFBI ISI 31-101 and AFSPCI 31-1101. Workers will be required to have an escort with them at all times. The Using Agency will provide an escort for the Contractor. The Contractor shall allow 30 minutes each day for personnel to process on and off the work site that will not be considered delay time.
The Contractor shall bid a crew hourly rate for any delays beyond the 30 minutes. This hourly rate will also apply to Government-caused work stoppages when the entire work crew will be asked to evacuate the work area.
All site access delays must be reported by the Contractor, in writing, to the Contracting Officer within 24 hours of occurrence. All Government-caused work stoppages must be documented by Government personnel at the time of occurrence and reported by the Contractor, in writing, to the Contracting Officer within 48 hours of occurrence.
1.8.2 Security: The Contractor shall:
1.8.2.1 Protect all Government property.
1.8.2.2 Comply with base physical security regulations and
procedures.
1.8.2.3 The Government inspector/escort will be responsible
for on-site security.
1.8.2.3.1 While work is in progress, the Contractor
may be required to remove his personnel due to Alert status, real or exercise.
1.8.2.4 During all on-site work, the Contractor personnel
will be accompanied and continuously monitored by one (1) Government inspector/escort. Failure to remain within the area being monitored is a serious breach of security and safety regulations. The Contractor will take all necessary action to ensure compliance. The Contracting Officer reserves the right to deny entry to/or take action with any Contractor personnel who refuse to conform to security and/or safety regulations. Delays resulting from such entry denial shall not result in any cost to the Government or schedule delay.
1.9 SAFETY:
1.9.1 The Contractor will comply with the most recent Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. OSHA Subpart 1926 and 1910 will be enforced.
1.9.2 The Contractor shall submit, within ten (10) working days prior to commencement of work, to the Contracting Officer, in writing, the name of the designated on-site person responsible for ensuring that all safety

and accident prevention provisions of this specification are implemented and enforced. The Contractor shall ensure that all Contractor personnel receive safety training and briefings and that all safety inspections, practices, and procedures are complied with.
1.9.3 The Contractor shall indoctrinate each employee to ensure clear understanding of the following subject areas including, but not limited to:
1.9.3.1 The purpose of the accident prevention program (i.e., to minimize hazards and prevent injuries).
1.9.3.2 A review of the hazards inherent in the work
environment and the precautions to be taken.
1.9.3.3 Location of first aid and other emergency facilities.
(The Contractor shall maintain a complete first aid kit on site at all times).
1.9.3.4 A detailed description of what to do in case of
injury, fire, or identification of a safety hazard.
1.9.3.5 Required safety equipment and its location on site.
Safety equipment includes but is not limited to earplugs, goggles, face shields, safety harness/lanyards, protective clothing, and hard-hats. All personnel will wear safety equipment when required by the Contractor, Contracting Officer, or Government inspector/escort.
1.9.3.6 Review of daily cleanup procedures.
1.9.3.7 Location of company safety rules (posted or handout).
1.9.3.8 Identification of the Contractor employees
responsible for safety/accident prevention.
1.9.4 In addition to normal safety practices, the Contractor will comply with the following requirements:
1.9.4.1 The safety of Contractor personnel on-site is the
responsibility of the Contractor.
1.9.4.2 The Contractor and on-site superintendent shall
attend an Air Force safety briefing conducted at the pre-construction meeting and comply with all safety procedures.
1.9.4.3 All personnel shall comply with Air Force on-site
safety procedures and additional procedures as directed by the Contracting Officer or his designated representative when the Contractor's safety person is not immediately available.

1.9.4.4 Equipment shall be placed so as not to impede normal
traffic in and out of the work area, or to interfere with emergency exit from work area and off-site.
1.9.4.5 Emergency flashlights shall be provided by the
Contractor and shall be available in the crew's work area at all times.
1.9.4.6 All vehicles shall be in safe operating condition.
Vehicles and equipment not complying shall not be allowed on site.
1.9.5 A number of hazards inherent to the work environment must be recognized, including:
1.9.5.1 Electrical circuits and devices pose serious and
generally continuing hazards. The Contractor shall take every precaution to prevent personnel injury.
1.9.5.2 Mechanical devices (i.e., fans) can pose serious
hazards when operated. Appropriate precautions shall be taken.
1.9.6 First Aid and Medical Requirements:
1.9.6.1 The Contractor shall comply with base accident
response requirements. These requirements are provided in a safety briefing by base personnel at the pre-construction conference. The Contractor shall keep these requirements on file at the working site for inspection by Air Force personnel.
1.9.6.2 The Contracting Officer or his designated
representative shall coordinate emergency medical, ambulance, or airlift requirements.
1.9.6.3 All accidents (employee injuries and vehicle, building, equipment or property damage, etc.), regardless of severity, shall be reported immediately to the Contracting Officer or his designated representative. The Contracting Officer will notify proper authority per Air Force regulations.
1.9.6.4 Emergency Operations. The Contractor shall provide, within ten (10) working days after award, a list of key Contractor personnel and telephone numbers to the Contracting Officer to affect early notification of any emergency that arises (during non-working hours) due to an incident related to this contract. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to:
1.9.6.4.1 Notify the Government inspector/escort of
any emergency situation. The Government inspector/escort will follow local emergency procedures.

1.9.6.4.2 Ensure that all Contractor personnel are
evacuated from the site and accounted for.
1.9.6.4.3 Assist in administering first aid, as
required, and evacuate injured personnel.
1.9.6.4.4 Obtain emergency services as required.
1.9.6.4.5 Avoid movement of, and alterations to, any
possible evidence of the cause of an emergency, incident, or accident.
Removal of injured personnel or the need to prevent further damage takes precedence over this requirement.
1.9.7 Special Safety Concerns:
1.9.7.1 Work in Confined Spaces:
1.9.7.1.1 Respirators, eye protection, and hard-hats
shall be worn in crawl space locations.
1.9.7.2 Fire Regulations. Compliance with local and Air
Force Fire Regulations is mandatory. Fire extinguishers rated and approved by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Base Fire Department of sufficient size, type, and quantity to cope with all known hazards, will be available and provided by the Contractor.
1.9.7.3 Contractor to comply with all OSHA/NEC and UBC
Regulations along with the standards of other construction disciplines.
1.9.8 Welding Safety Precautions:
1.9.8.1 Welding Safety Requirements. Before welding, the
Contractor shall obtain a welding permit from Base Fire Department, within ten (10) working days after award, before any open flame or welding operation is conducted. The Contractor shall allow five (5) work days for processing the permit. No welding actions shall occur without the welding permit in hand and on site. The welding permit shall be renewed every 30 days or when entering a new flight area. The Contractor shall conduct his work such that after any welding operation, a one-hour (minimum) fire watch in the area in which welding has occurred is conducted.
1.9.8.2 Prior to initiation of welding/cutting or open flame
soldering operations, combustible material will be removed from the area.
Residue from spills and leaks will be cleaned up. Materials that cannot be removed will be protected against the possibility of ignition from operation.
1.9.8.3 The Contractor will post a fire watch person on any
welding, cutting, open flame, heat or spark producing operation below grade and where flammable materials cannot be removed from within the welding area.
SECTION 01100-9
One fire watch person may perform for more than one welder provided he can properly monitor all operations assigned to him. Carbon dioxide and water type fire extinguishers shall be accessible and the fire watch person shall be trained in their use.
1.9.8.4 If oxygen and acetylene tanks are used, they will be
located above grade and placed in a vertical position. They will be accessible to personnel when welding/cutting or soldering is in progress.
Valves will be closed at the tanks during any work stoppage. Hose lines will be inspected daily for hose leaks. Ties will anchor hose lines so that the hose connections are not used to support the hose. Padding will be provided to protect hose lines at all corners or sharp projections.
1.9.8.5 All welding power source equipment will be located
above grade. It will be accessible to personnel and will be shut off and disconnected during any work stoppage. Electrodes will be removed from holder when not in use.
1.10 OTHER CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS: In addition to those requirements outlined in this specification, the Contractor is responsible for the following:
1.10.1 The Contractor shall maintain, at each location, all
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s) pertinent to hazardous material used in the project in compliance with OSHA's Hazardous Communications Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200. MSDS’s will be available to all contractors and Government inspector/escort at all times during construction. MSDS’s data will be available on all hazardous material used in the contract and all Contractor personnel will be made aware of the requirements.
1.10.2 The Contractor shall furnish and maintain, on site, the following:
1.10.2.1 Two (2) portable fire extinguishers rated at 2A 20
BC minimum, and one water type extinguisher.
1.10.2.2 One emergency first aid kit.
1.10.3 CONCEALED WORK: All items of work to be concealed shall be Government inspected prior to concealment.
1.11 AVAILABILITY OF UTILITY SERVICES: Except where restricted in these specifications in other sections for certain tasks, all reasonable quantities of utilities shall be made available to the Contractor. No temporary connections will be permitted, which may be of a semi-permanent nature. All connections shall be made by plugging into existing receptacles while work is in progress for electrical service. All extension cords must be GFI protected. All electrical cords shall be unplugged at the end of each work period.
SECTION 01100-10
1.12 COORDINATION AND VERIFICATION OF DIMENSIONS: The Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating his work so as to minimize interference to the operational equipment and personnel in the building, as the facility will remain operational during construction. Extreme caution shall be exercised to prevent damage to the equipment from dust, water, etc. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to furnish drop cloths and whatever material may be required to keep equipment safe at all times from dust and debris. All salvage material and debris shall be properly disposed of off site, by the Contractor, in a manner in accordance with Federal, State, and County rules and regulations.
1.12.1 The Contractor shall visit the premises and thoroughly familiarize himself with the details of the work and conditions prior to starting work. The dimensions given on the drawings are for general reference only and shall be field verified by the Contractor prior to commencement of the work.
1.12.2 Coordinate work of the various Sections of the Specification to ensure efficient and orderly sequence of installation of construction elements, with provisions for accommodating items installed later.
1.12.3 Verify characteristics of elements of interrelated operating interdependent responsibilities for installing, connecting to and placing in service, such equipment.
1.13 QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP: The various trades involved in performing the work in this project shall be competent and highly skilled in their particular trade. All work shall result in the highest standards of workmanship, safety and quality. The Contracting Officer may, in writing, require the Contractor to remove from the project any employee deemed incompetent, careless, or otherwise objectionable to personal safety, equipment, or the quality of workmanship.
1.14 AS-BUILT DRAWINGS: As-Built drawings shall be prepared and submitted to the Contracting Officer as indicated on the AF Form 66. As-built drawings reflect work performed by the Contractor that differs from the contract drawings. It is therefore the Contractor’s responsibility to maintain the drawings in the most current status. Copies of the existing as-built drawings, showing the general arrangement of equipment, electrical, and so forth, will be available to the Contractor upon request to be used for additional information that may be required in performing his work. The Contractor shall be aware, however, that existing as-builts show approximate locations of equipment only, and actual site conditions may vary from those as shown on existing as-builts.
1.14.1 The Contractor shall maintain a set of redlined full-size, as-built construction drawings marked-up to fully indicate as-built conditions. These drawings shall be maintained in a current condition at all

times until completion of the work and shall be available for review by Government personnel at all times. The location as dimensioned from permanent features, general description, type of material, and approximate depth below finished grade of all new and existing exterior underground utilities encountered shall be indicated. All variations from the contract drawings for the required coordination between trades shall be indicated.
These variations shall be shown in the same general detail utilized in the initial contract drawings. As-built construction drawing shall be furnished to the Contracting Officer for use during the final inspection.
1.15 DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT: Contractor shall notify the Government inspector/escort or the Missile Combat Crew Commander immediately if any damage occurs to equipment during construction operations. The Missile Combat Crew Commander on site will direct all emergency procedures and/or action required after damage to any equipment. Damage to areas shall be repaired by skilled craftsmen in the trade to the satisfaction of the Contracting Officer or his designated representative.
1.16 PERMITS:
1.16.1 Clearance Work Request:
1.16.1.1 Contractor shall coordinate with appropriate utility locating agencies, including base communications cable maintenance (Item 1 through 15) of AF Form 103, Base Civil Engineering Work Clearance Request.
AF Form 103 will be given to the contractor during the pre-construction meeting. Contractor shall complete and follow all instructions on AF Form 103 before start of work on base. A copy of AF Form 103 instructions will be available to the contractor during the pre-construction meeting.
1.16.1.2 Before any excavation, alteration, or other
construction work is begun, the contractor shall obtain and fully process an AF Form 103, Base Civil Engineering Work Clearance Request. The form requires extensive coordination with several base agencies, including furnishing all locations, detailed information, and sketches regarding any proposed excavation(s). Processing a separate request for each planned excavation is required; each phase of processing the form and its attachments shall be completed prior to commencing work involving that phase. The AF Form 103 shall be prominently displayed on the job site at all times for review by the Contracting Officer and/or his or her designated representative. A copy of the signed form shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer and a copy to the project inspector.
1.16.1.3 Contractor shall schedule a meeting time to meet
with each utility agency at the work site to locate affected utilities.
1.16.1.4 Contractor shall maintain all marked utilities in
the field once they are initially marked by each utility agency. If markings are damaged, contractor shall request new locates and shall give the locating

agency 48 hours to perform the new locates. Expenses for time and materials to perform repeat locates shall be borne by the contractor, unless otherwise approved by the Approving Officer. Cost to do the repeat locates will be deducted from the final invoice. Cost will be calculated using the average shop rate of each agency. In cases where utilities were marked late in the year and operations had to be shut down for winter, marked utilities would still have to be maintained by the contractor by placing stakes or transcribing the marks on a drawing. When construction resumes, contractor shall re-mark the site and may request verification of utility locations at no additional cost to him. Off-base utility locates agencies might request additional cost for repeat locates.
1.16.1.5 Clearance request is not valid until signed by the
Approving Officer, block 17 of the AF Form 103. Approving Officer will not sign until all locates are marked and all utility locating agencies signatures are on the form. Excavation work shall commence within 30 days after the Approving Officer's signature; otherwise, clearance request is invalid and a new request is required. Notify Contracting Officer immediately if new utilities were installed by others and not marked after all initial locates are made.
1.16.1.6 Protection of Existing Utilities: The contractor
shall safeguard and protect from damage all utilities encountered or uncovered during digging, excavation, and backfilling.
1.17 NOTICE OF FINAL INSPECTION: The Contractor shall, after notifying the Government inspector/escort, schedule a date with the Contracting Officer for final inspection one (1) week prior to the Contractor's projected completion of each site. A final inspection shall not be held until all discrepancies found during any pre-final inspections have been corrected.

SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES
1.1 PROCEDURES:
1.1.1 The contractor shall be required to submit items listed in AF Form 66, Schedule of Materials Submittals (See Attachment No. 01) at the end of this section.
1.1.2 Transmit each item under AF 3000, Material Approval Submittal form (See Attachment No. 02). Identify contract number, project number, and contractor. Identify section and paragraph reference for each item submitted with the AF 3000. Submit five (5) copies unless otherwise required elsewhere in the specification.
1.1.3 Unless specifically stated otherwise elsewhere in this
specification, each submittal shall be approved by the Contracting Officer prior to incorporation of materials into the work.
1.1.4 Approvals of submittals which do not conform to the Contract shall not be construed as a change to the contract.
1.1.5 The contractor shall fill in the "Required Submission Date" on the AF Form 66s with the date he plans on submitting the submittals to the Government. A copy of the AF Form 66s with the required submission date filled in shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer for use by the contract administrator. Submit in accordance with Section 01300.
1.2 MANUFACTURER'S DATA AND SAMPLES: For the following types of submittals when a specific product of a specific manufacturer is identified (by catalog or product number, pattern, or style) and the contractor does not desire to propose an alternate product as an equal, where an equal is allowed, a detailed submittal will not be required. The contractor shall submit on an AF Form 3000 a list of submittals for which the specified products will be used. Submit in accordance with procedures identified in
1.1 above.
1.2.1 Product Data: Submit complete manufacturer's literature which describes all salient characteristics identified as requirements in the specification. Literature which is not specific to the proposed product shall be marked to indicate clearly which item is being proposed for use in this contract.

1.2.2 Manufacturer's Certification: Submit a statement from the product manufacturer that proposed products meet the specified standards and other salient characteristics identified as requirements in the specification.
1.2.3 Installation Instructions: Submit manufacturer's printed instructions for delivery, storage, assembly, installation, start-up (if applicable) and adjustments. Information shall include temperature restrictions and any other environmental limitations as well as substrate preparation requirements if any exist.
1.2.4 Samples:
1.2.4.1 Submit full range of manufacturer's standard colors, textures and patterns for specified items for selection by the Contracting Officer.
1.2.4.2 Submit samples to illustrate performance and
functional characteristics of the product. Samples shall include integral parts, attachment devices and specified accessories. Provide full identification information on each sample.
1.3 SHOP DRAWINGS: Drawings shall illustrate how the specified materials are integrated into the work as a whole. Adjacent materials which affect the complete installation of the specified products shall be shown and identified. Deviations from Contract drawings shall be clearly identified and reason for deviation clearly explained.
1.4 TEST DATA: Test results shall be dated and signed by the agency performing the test.
1.5 WARRANTY: Submit detailed warranty information which identifies specifically items covered as well as exclusions from the warranty and the warranty period. All copies shall be dated and signed by an authorized officer of the company. The officer's name and title shall be typed on the warranty adjacent to the signature.
1.6 OPERATION/MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS: Submit manufacturer's published instructions.
1.7 MISCELLANEOUS SUBMITTALS: Submittals which are none of the above types shall meet the specific requirements identified in the referenced paragraph of the Specification Section identified in the schedule.
