STATEMENT OF WORK

WORK ORDER # HEKP18-4009

Install Blast Curtains Bldg 5646

1. General Requirements

The scope of work shall consist of the installation of Blast Curtains in room 150 of building 5646. This corner room is located on 1st floor and has (6) windows, which will need the curtains for coverage. The scope will include the installation (6) individual blast curtains, as well as any/all associated work of affected areas by the install of curtains.

2. Specialties

Contractor shall install (6) Blast Curtains in Room 150 of Building 5646. The Blast Curtains will have a minimum dimension of 44”W x 52” L, which is the actual perimeter of glass needing coverage.

The curtains will be of the following or alike: Mitigation Technologies SafetyDrape Model #

SDCW6060. Consists of Stone white trough color & white in actual drape coverage.

Blast Curtains will meet the following standards & performance attributes:

1. ASTM F1642 Standard Test Method for Glazing and Glazing Systems Subject to Airblast

Loadings -Glazing hazard level: LH

2. GSA Standard Test Method for Glazing and Window Systems Subject to Dynamic

Overpressure

3. Loadings -Rating: 3

4. AAMA 510-06 Voluntary Guide specification for Blast Hazard Mitigation for

Fenestration Systems

5. ASTM E1300-04, Standard Practice for Determining Load Resistance of Glass in

Buildings

6. ISO 16933:2007 Glass in building - Explosion resistant security glazing - Test and classification for arena air blast loading

7. ISO 16934:2007 Glass in building - Explosion resistant security glazing - Test and classification by Shock tube loading

8. UFC 4-010-01 DOD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings

9. Contractor shall offer warranty with this installation, whether Manufacturer or contractor installs and/or Supervises the installation of Blast Curtains.

3. Electrical

All electrical work shall be in compliance with the National Electrical Code and completed by license electrician. All fixtures and devices shall be U.L. listed, all receptacles and switches shall be specification grade, and colored to compliment the decor. All wire shall be copper conductor and #12 minimum sizes, white, black, and a full size green ground.

Exposed conduit shall be non-metallic raceway, Hubbell, Wiremold, or equal. All wire and cable shall meet all standards and specifications applicable, and shall be in conformance with the latest edition of the NEC. All wire shall be in rigid conduit or shall be MC Cable (three conductor black, white and a full size green ground). Wire shall be copper conductor, type THHN or THWN, unless otherwise specified.

4. Finishes (Flooring, Walls, Ceilings)

PAINTING: Paint as used herein means all coating systems materials, including primers, emulsions, enamels, stains, sealers and fillers, and other applied materials whether used as prime, intermediate or finish coats. Surfaces to be painted: Except where natural finish of material is specifically noted as a surface not to be painted, paint exposed surfaces. Where items or surfaces are not specifically mentioned, paint the same as similar adjacent materials or areas. If color or finish is not designated, Architect will select these from standard colors or finishes available. Paint application shall consist of one (1) coat primer and two (2) coats of paint, unless specified otherwise. All paint/primer shall cover the surface uniformly and be free of all runs, drips, and sags. Primers and under coatings shall be produced by the same manufacturer as the finish coating. All coatings are to be applied utilizing the manufacturers specifications. All paint/primer containers must be removed from the installation unless coordinated through government.

The extent of gypsum drywall work is outlined below. Types of work include: Screw-type metal support system, Gypsum drywall directly applied to metal support systems, Gypsum backing boards for application of other finishes and Interior gypsum drywall ceiling/soffits.

Seams: tape all joints and apply three coats of joint compound sanded smooth between coats, meeting a Level 4 finish per ASTM-c-840 (unless otherwise indicated). Fire-Resistance Rating: Where gypsum drywall systems with fire-resistance ratings are indicated provide materials and installations which are identical with those of applicable assemblies tested per ASTM E 119 by fire testing laboratories acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction.

5. Existing Conditions

Landscaping

5.1.1. The contractor shall restore damage to existing grounds and plantings caused by contractor’s personnel or equipment.

Material Handling

5.1.2. Dumpsters and waste containers shall be kept fifteen (15) feet away from building.

5.1.3. The contractor shall remove all contract generated debris from the construction site and dispose of the debris off site at an approved landfill. Disposal shall be in accordance with Local, State and Federal laws and regulations. In case of conflict, the most stringent law or regulation will apply. All dumpster delivery tickets must be returned to the government (See Material Submittals for detail).

6. Site Requirements

I. SAFETY COMPLIANCE:

i. The contractor shall comply with Installation safety regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) (Public Law 91-596) and the portions of OSHA

Standards 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 applicable to your operations. The detailed provisions of the act for accident prevention are directly applicable to your operations. It is also the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure all Sub-Contractors comply with these requirements. Contact the Joint Base Safety Office for further information. ii. Contractors have the responsibility to follow all industrial safety provisions.

Contractors are also responsible for Hazard Communications Training to all contractors and subcontractors working for your company.

iii. The contractor must immediately report all contractor mishaps involving JB MDL personnel injuries and/or property/equipment damage to the contracting officer who is responsible to notify the 87 ABW Safety Office. Do not disturb the mishap scene until proper officials authorize movement. When the contracting officer becomes aware of any safety directives’ noncompliance by the contractor that could cause injury to JB MDL personnel or damage to JB MDL property or equipment, he/she will inform the contractor. The contractor must take immediate steps to correct the situation.

iv. The JB MDL reserves the right to enter and inspect, with or without prior notice and with the contracting officer’s concurrence, any and all facilities and (or) project locations on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. 87 ABW Safety personnel may periodically monitor contractor activities, if necessary, only to ensure the safety of JB MDL personnel and protection of government property. If a safety procedure or condition exists requiring correction by the contractor, 87 ABW Safety will contact the contracting officer to initiate corrective action.

v. Prior to any excavation the contractor shall call and obtain approval from New Jersey State “Call before You Dig” program, 1-800-272-1000 for underground utility identification. For locations outside of New Jersey, the contractor is responsible to contact and obtain approval from the appropriate authority. In- Addition, the contractor shall, prior to underground excavation, contact the 87 CES customer service (Dix Area Bldg. 5344 Phone: 562-6021/McGuire and Lakehurst Area Bldg. 3401) to initiate a work clearance permit. The contractor is responsible for updating the permit every 30 days; in addition the contractor shall maintain the site condition during the entire period of performance. A copy of this approval must be available for inspection at the excavation site. The contractor shall remove all identification Flag when excavation is complete or before final inspection of the project.
