Q and A After site visit
1. Do you have the dimensions of the existing display? Please see attachment.
2. -For the double-sided gate marquees, do the replacement marquees need to be installed in the same manner as the existing marquees? i.e. fit between the existing columns, and flush on the front of each side? Yes
3. -If so, what is the exact space on the inside of each column? (to determine exact size restriction of incoming equipment, SOW doc specifies viewing area dimensions but not outer edge dimensions) Please see attachment.
4. What type of fiber optic cable is currently installed?
5. What type of fiber optic connectors are currently installed?
I believe that the Fiber is single mode, but not positive. The current set up is Cat 5 Ethernet from the programming computer to a Fiber converter, fiber is run to the Front and North gate sign locations, into another fiber converter that converts back to Cat 5 Ethernet. So the connection at the sign location is actually a Cat 5 Ethernet into the sign itself. The fiber and fiber converters currently in place are operational and have had no issues so should not require upgrade or replacement at this time, as such they were not included in the solicitation.
The third location, the DV Lounge, is a straight Cat5 Ethernet connection from the computer in the DV lounge to the sign location.
6. Will you require any laptops computers included to program the signs or will existing equipment be used?
We will be using preexisting computer equipment to control/program the signs, but do require a backup copy of all of the software to facilitate upgrading the computer equipment at a future date if needed.
7. Do you require in person training?
8. Section 5.4 states “computer equipment and training”
9. Does a USB or CD/DVD preloaded with software training fulfill this requirement?
Do not necessarily need in person training, as long as the provided training is complete and easily understandable it does not matter the method of delivery, be it in person or in a digital manner.
