STATEMENT OF WORK

BI-ANNUAL DORMITORY DRYER VENT CLEANING

30 April 2019 PURPOSE: To avoid a potential and common fire hazard caused by excessive lint build up, improve dryer dry times, and avoid costly repairs to dryers. Per Air Force Instruction 91-203 in section 41.3.7.4., “Ensure dryers are vented to the outside and dryer exhaust pipes are cleaned as needed to prevent buildup of flammable lint.” A total of 97 vents in 10 dormitory buildings on Travis Air Force Base are to be cleaned bi-annually due to their high use classification. The initial cleaning should take place NLT 30 days from contract award and subsequent cleaning NLT 6 months from initial cleaning. Building locations are as follows:

Building 1350 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors south side - (12) dryer vents Building 1351 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors north side - (12) dryer vents Building 1334 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors north side - (6) dryer vents Building 1331 1st floor south side - (9) dryer vents Building 1332 1st floor north side - (9) dryer vents Building 1305 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors south side - (7) dryer vents Building 1308 1st and 2nd floor center - (6) dryer vents Building 1314 quads 101, 102, 103, 104, 201, 202, 203, 204, 301, 302, 303, & 304 - (12) dryer vents Building 1315 quads 101, 102, 103, 104, 201, 202, 203, 204, 301, 302, 303, & 304 - (12) dryer vents Building 1316 quads 101, 102, 103, 104, 201, 202, 203, 204, 301, 302, 303, & 304 - (12) dryer vents

SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor shall 1) check any obstructions behind the dryer at the connection and dislodge any access lint, or debris from the line with a high power blower, 2) apply long rods with brushes on the ends to breakaway any clogged areas in the duct line, and 3) apply high powered vacuum to outside vent to remove remaining debris at the end of the duct work.

CONTRACTOR SUPPLIED ITEMS: The contractor will furnish all labor, transportation, tools, equipment, materials, and parts for on-site services. Contractor will remove all trash created during services. Contractor will comply with all necessary requirements to gain access to base. All vehicles used require approval by the Travis AFB Civil Engineering Squadron and may only be parked on the pavement. Lastly, the contractor is liable for any damages incurred.

HOURS OF OPERATION: All services will be performed during normal government working hours which are: Monday through Friday 0730-1600 with modified hours on military down days and US Holidays. The government will not compensate costs for overtime unless otherwise authorized herein.

Contractor will coordinate with Unaccompanied Housing management to schedule dates and times for cleaning of dryer vent systems within 30 days from contract award, and for access to Travis Air Force Base prior to these dates.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES: A military member will escort contractors at all times while on the Travis AFB dormitory campus.
