Sooner Drop Zone Site Visit Questions and Answers
Q1 – Do we anticipate the cost of Option Years 1 and 2 to be higher due to the inclusion of mowing during the non-growing season?
A1 – Yes.
Q2 – When do we expect the mowing of the unimproved grounds and drainage ditches?
A2 – These will be directed by Work Order, when necessary.
Q3 – Will the exterior fences need to be trimmed around in their entirety?
A3 – No, as long as the mowing occurs within a reasonable distance of the fence.
Q4 – There was some fallen fencing observed within mowing zone. Will the vendor be expected to move that, or maintain the area around it?
A4 – The vendor will not be expected to remove any non-mowing debris. Any obstacles in the field will need to be mowed and trimmed around.
Q5 – Would the vendor be authorized to bale?
A5 – Yes, as long as the maximum height requirements are met. Bales are to be removed the same day. If you need to go shorter to bale at the beginning of each growing season, you can mow down to 5 inches. However, the decision to do so is solely at the discretion of the contractor and at no additional cost to the Government.
Q6 – Could spraying be substituted for trimming?
A6 – Yes, after an initial trim, spraying could be used to manage the trimming requirements.
