FA441718Q0047 Air Dryer Q&A
1. What are the existing compressor brand, model, pressure, flow, and HP : Brand: Gardner Denver Model: EBP99G Pressure: 150 psig, Horsepower: 100
2. SOW Special Qualifications contractor must validate BHD-100 inlet flow 150scfm and outlet flow 120 scfm. Breathing air dryer Aircel model BHD-100 inlet is 100scfm and outlet is 80scfm. Aircel BHD-150scfm inlet is 150scfm and outlet is 120scfm. Do you want the BHD-100 or BHD-150 this should be the BHD-150
3. SOW Special Qualifications regarding contractor must validate Ingersoll Rand D850IN 460/3/60 nema 1 refrigerated non cycling has capacity of 500 scfm. With in the same paragraph it states “can handle air flows from 200-2400 scfm” Dryer cannot handle flows above 500 scfm. What is the required flow rate? Or are you wanting different technology than the D850IN? after review of the requirement and the limited space requirement if possible should be 700 SCFM similar to model D1190IN but with the limited space available to work would provide the required amount of air
4. During installation can the vacuum system be removed by contractor? Yes the unit could be removed but would have to be reinstalled when work is completed and in the same condition as removed.
5. As mentioned the Zander Refrigerated Air Dryer will require disassembly due to its physical size. Will the refrigerant (Freon) require recovery by a licensed HVAC technician to avoid an atmosphere discharge? Yes any refrigerant will need to be recovered and not released into the air.
6. The existing Zander Model ZCD800-A is a cycling type refrigerated air dryer rated for 800 scfm at standard conditions. The Requested Replacement Dryer is non-cycling with a rated capacity of 500 scfm. Please confirm that the intention is to reduce the available air-drying capacity with a non-cycling dryer. The Drier replacement should have the capability of 700SCFM if the physical size if a unit with this capacity will fit in the limited space.
Note: An unknown continuous capacity such as yours is typically served most efficiently with a cycling dryer. A cycling dryer has the ability to turn off (Saving Energy and Needless Wear & Tear), A Non-Cycling Dryer does not and runs continuously.
7. The existing Zander Model BSP6 Breathing Air Purifier has rated capacity of 165scfm Inlet capacity at standard conditions. The Requested Replacement breathing Air Purifier was suggested as a Aircel Model BHD-100. I believe the rated capacity for the specified model is 100 scfm Inlet at standard conditions. A Model BHD-150 has a rated Inlet capacity of 150 scfm at standard conditions. Please confirm which size is being considered. The suggested Model for a 150 SCFM is the required capacity required. Your suggestion of a BHD-150 would be the correct item or equivalent
8. Will Energy Management be required for the Breathing Air Purifier? This feature enables the purifier to reduce the continuous purge air requirement of the desiccant dryer. The above stated capacity requirements would require your air compressor to start or load on an average of every 3 minutes resulting in continuous operation of the compressor. Energy management will help to reduce the overall energy consumption and equipment wear and tear. Yes an energy Management is this not the same as Cycle time option of the BDH series or an equivelant.
9. Will an air sample be required with an air analysis report ensuring that the compressed air meets all air quality requirements for Grade D breathing air? Yes will need to have inspected and validated to meet specifications
