Airpark Restoration Site Visit Q & A Q1: There are aircraft that currently have “wrapped” noses. Would you like the wrap to be replaced or removed and painted.

A1: Removed and painted.

Q2: Would you like matte or glossy style paint?

A2: Glossy paint finish.

Q3: The landscape (grass, rock, and sidewalk, etc.) need to be protected, correct?

A3: Yes, the contractor must ensure no damage occurs to the landscape, etc.

Q4: Do all doors need to be sealed (using calk, etc.)?

A4: All doors except one on each plane will be sealed. Which doors will be left unsealed will be revealed upon contract award.

Q5: What is the washing schedule going to be like for these planes?

A5: The Government foresees the planes being washed at LEAST once annually. Paint/finish must be able to withstand this.

Q6: Do the decals and designs on the planes need to be replaced/repainted exactly as they are now?

A6: Yes, all decals and designs MUST be replaced/repainted exactly the same.

Q7: Does the bird-proofing need to be done?

A7: Yes, all bird-proofing will be replaced after planes are painted. Any materials that need to be replaced will be at contractor’s expense.

Q8: Do the bases that hold the planes up need to be restored as well?

A8: Yes, all bases and wheels of each plane will need to be restored to the same standard as the planes.

Q9: Do all windows need to be painted?

A9: Yes, all windows will be painted black from the outside.

EXCEPTION: the C-9 side windows will be painted white.

Q10: Prior to refinishing, does the existing paint need to be completely stripped to the metal, or will scuff, sand and then paint suffice?

A10: Completely stripping existing paint is not necessary. However, contractor will ensure they utilize any methodology necessary to provide the most long-lasting effect for the new paint.

Q11: Are these (pointing to design on plane) decals or paint?

A11: Those are decals. There are some decals and some paint. Contractor will replace or repaint according to what is currently there.

Q12: The C-21 looks relatively new, does it need to be completely restored?

A12: The C-21 does NOT need to be completely restored. Contractor will ensure the plane will be of the same quality finish as the rest of the planes that are being restored. Any necessary touch-up work will be the responsibilty of the contractor. (Examples: any current paint failures, rusted screws, touching up decals, etc.)

Q13: Will the contractor be responsible to document the locations of all existing decals, etc. prior to beginning work?

A13: Yes, contractor will document all such decal locations, colors, designs, etc. to ensure replacement EXACTLY the way they appear now.

Q14: Will the small ovals and specs on the C-130 propellers need to be replaced?

A14: Yes, these two things will be redone in accordance with the way they appear now, or should appear historically. Winning vendor will work with Government POC to ensure this is correct.

Q15: I see some small circles where the planes are not currently painted. Do they need paint too?

A15: No, these small circles are some plances are considered no paint zones. Winning vendor will work with Government POC to ensure all no paint zones are accounted for.

Q16: Is there requirements for water disposal during the cleaning of planes? Is there water available for use?

A16: All water/materials used during performance will be disposed of in accordance with all federal, state, and local ordinances. Disposal shall be environmentally safe and responsible. There is NO access to water on site. Contractor to be responsible to provide any water necessary.

Q17: There are two planes close to buildings (on flight line). Is there a requirement for protection of said buildings?

A17: Yes, zero paint shall touch any buildings. Contractor to take any precaution necessary to ensure no paint makes it anywhere it shouldn’t be. (Examples: buildings, ground, rocks, etc.)

Q18: There was a requirement for sidewalk construction before, is there going to be another requirement coming out?

A18: There could be another contractor performing sidewalk construction at certain points during performance. Winning vendor shall work with said contractor to ensure neither project is disturbed.
