SUBJECT: VACUUM EXCAVATOR – Equivalent Items Only
The Government is only conducting market research and attaining information to identify contractors that are capable of providing the item listed below. The Government is currently utilizing NAICS 333996- Motors, fluid power, manufacturing. All information provided is STRICTLY VOLUNTARY.
The purpose of this RFI is to query the market for potential interested, capable, responsible, and qualified small business offerors that can provide/perform the stated requirement. The government is interested in collecting market data/information in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10, from potential sources that have the capability of providing a vacuum excavator equivalent to the RING- O-MATIC 850 HiCFM Vacuum Excavator Trailer that has an equivalent characteristic of the Vipor Potholing capability and an extenable boon. The equivalent capability of the Vipor Potholing and extendable boon are BOTH a must.
Interested and/or potential small business offerors capable of providing an equivalent item are requested and encouraged to submit responses to the questions below, not later than 4:00 P.M. Central Time on 18 April 2019. All respondents must provide the manufacturer, part number, illustration to show capability of similar to Vipor Potholing and extendable boon, and literature or description to support an equivalent product substitution in your submission. All correspondence resulting from this RFI and relevant questions shall be sent to 2 Lt Joshua Reece at joshua.reece.2@us.af.mil not later than the closing date.

5. Salient Characteristics required (interested contractors must submit literature showing equivalency of below Salient Characteristics):
RING-O-MATIC 850 HiCFM Vacuum Excavator Trailer equivalent characteristics:
a. Vipor Potholing tool which will allow technicians to operate this with minimal manning.
b. Extendable boon, which makes accessing sites easier where heavy equipment can not operate
6. This request for information (RFI) is strictly voluntary and is not to be interpreted as a quote in anticipation of a future contract award.
7. Respondent will not be notified of the results of the information. However, the Contracting Officer will utilize the information for technical and acquisition planning. All proprietary information not to be disseminated in Government documents must be clearly identified. Since this is a sources sought announcement only, no evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the participants. This market survey is issued to determine the applicable planning and acquisition strategy based on responses indicating capability in responding to this requirement.
