Amendment 1 Questions and Answers for Request for Quote (RFQ) FA301618U0371 Wildlife Deterrent Cannon System Seguin Auxiliary Field, Seguin, Texas

1. In the SOW, 4.3.1.1 c. “Individual cannons include a rotation function in order to prevent wildlife habituation.” Are you looking for the rotation function to be controlled or programmed through the control system or are you looking for the cannon to rotate on its own when fired?

Government response: The cannon does not need to be controlled or programmed to rotate after each firing. Instead, the system can operate on a "Free-spinning" caster system that allows the unit to rotate to another random position after each firing.

2. We are registered in SAM but can you tell me what paperwork you are looking for in addition to the information on the first two pages of this RFQ?

Government response: The Request for Quote (RFQ) on whole identifies what is required for quote submission and evaluation. The government is unable to assist quoters in quote development. Submission contents are at the discretion of each quoter based on the requirements under any given provision or clause contained herein.

3. One of the deliverables for this project is Users/Operating/ Maintenance Manuals. Can you find out if the user is looking for three different manuals or just one manual?

Government response: The government is requesting one (1) manual that covers user/operating/maintenance in a single document.

4. Is there an existing control system in one of the buildings that we will have to disassemble along with the six old cannons? If so, will we need a ladder to disconnect antennas and possibly replace with new antennas?

Government response: There is not an existing central control system. Each cannon has a receiver on it and the mobile transmitter is used to fire each cannon individually. No ladder is needed to disconnect the system in place. Potential quoters are reminded, however, that the SOW requires the awardee to provide all equipment and materials necessary to perform removal/install tasks.

5. Is the existing control system operational and can it be salvaged?

Government response: As stated in the response to question 4, there is no existing central control system. The units that are still at Seguin Auxiliary Field will be salvaged and returned to 12 FTW/SE and not taken by the new prospective vendor.
