Question and Answers for Solicitation FA3016-16-N-0127 – JBSA Lackland Recycle Equipment
1. Question: Item 0001, D. Bolt on Output Conveyor, 16’ Long x 20” Wide- This conveyor seems too long as the current conveyor is only 5’ long at the most. Anything longer will take up more space than you have.
Government Response: Space will be made available. Please follow requirements in solicitation.
2. Question: Item 0002, A, 11. Tow Bar or ramp clamp- Which one?
Government Response: Ramp clamp
3. Question: Item 0004. 4. All electrical components are Nema 4- You may want to be clear that you require the weather proof package
Government Response: Nema- 4 Preferred, weather prooffing required since they will be maintained outside.
4. Questions: Item 0004- If you are concerned with needing a heater in the control panel we recommend an heater for the oil tank as well.
Government Response: Requester does not require heater for oil tank .
5. Question: We can offer a trade-in value for the two (2) International NA-1296 Closed
Door Balers, one (1) International Slider Bed Conveyor, and two (2) Harmony Model BCB2003 Vertical Balers, and One (1) Allegheny Shredder System, and One International Slider Bed Conveyor (in the parking lot). This will help offset the cost of the new equipment and we will then be responsible for removal and loading.
Government Response: No trade ins
6. Question: What is the expected throughput rate for each base (lbs/h, 96gal totes/day, or whatever other unit they can come up with)?
Government Response: 100 gallon totes
7. Question: What is the biggest incoming material piece for the shredder (incl. OCC)?
Government Response: Mat/folders paper etc….
8. Questions: What is the desired out coming particle size after the shredder?
Government Response: 5/8”
9. Question: Will alternate quote/ bid be excepted for the 3 locations in addition to quoting the spec’d max pax? If it improves layout and utilizes less space, without sacrificing thru-put of equipment ?
Government Respone: All offers received will be evaluated in accordance with solicitation.
10. Question: Do the Yard Ramps have to be a part of the bid?
Government Response: Yes – as it is part of the solicitation and is not being removed.
Vendors must quote on all Line Items of the requirement or they will be deemed non-responsive and not eligible for award.
11. Question: Would you prefer we submit our proposal along with basic specifications and any literature to support what we are quoting along with your filled in bid forms or would you prefer us to only include your bid forms with supporting literature?
Government Response: Yes, please provide literature.
12. Question: Attachment 1, Statement of Work, #14 Contractor’s Warranty. There are various manufacturer’s and each will have their specific warranty which we will call out in the bid forms. However, since this is listed as “Contractor’s Warranty”, are you asking for this to be above and beyond the manufacturer’s warranty?
Government Response: Standard 1 Year Warranty
