SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

The following have been added by full text:

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. Are there fire alarm devices under the raised flooring? If yes, what type and quantity?

A. Yes there are devices under flooring rooms 111A & 111B. Per SOW (section 3.2.4) old Halon System devices, wires and conduit can be abandoned in place if not accessible.

2. In the statement of work is calling for the cabling, metallic conductor and device to be removed from under the floor. The halon demo drawings are only showing the ceiling mounted devices to be demo. Are the under floor devices and conduit and conductors required to be removed? If yes what are the number of halon devices under the floor in each area? What is the approximant length of conduit under the floor in each area?

A. Yes there are devices under flooring rooms 111A & 111B. Per SOW (section 3.2.4) old Halon System devices, wires and conduit can be abandoned in place if not accessible.

3. On page FX-002, note #10 says: “Where suspended ceiling grid is damaged, repair/replace as required at no additional cost to owner”. Is a part of the ceiling already damaged or the replacement shall be made in case it gets damaged during the removal by the contractor? If already damaged, could you provide an estimate of the area to be replaced?

A. If damaged by contractor in the progress of project replace damaged ceiling grid or tile. Identify any ceiling grid or tiles that are damaged before any work begins.

4. Can proposal be emailed or does hard copies need to be sent?

A. Yes, proposals can be emailed.

5. Drawing FX-002 Note 2 conflicts with the specifications Attachment 1, 3.2.4. The drawings call for stainless steel and specify no thickness, the specifications call for 12 GA aluminum. Please clarify.

A. Per drawings FX-002 all opening require stainless steel plates, screws and completely cover opening. Provide 16 GA Stainless Steel.

6. Attachment 1, 3.2.4; please define perimeter walls.

A. Any wall forming the boundary of the secure area on the north side of the facility. Penetrations through this wall must be kept to a minimum and completely sealed afterwards. Any items removed from this wall must have the remaining opening patch and finished with a level 4 finish painted to match.

7. Can the existing sprinkler piping be reused?

A. Yes, the existing dry pipe system piping can be reused unless it is discovered to be damaged. If damaged pipe is discovered, notify the Contracting Officer. Modifications should be made to the risers as shown. Contractor to pressure test and identify any potential leaks before filling with water.

FA301018R0012

8. For design and planning purposes, will the Government make access available to all areas at one time for up front planning and design or will planning and design need to coincide with the phasing plan?

A. Per drawing FX-002; Note 14: Escorts are required in all spaces; therefore access to areas are limited. Weekly updates required to properly coordinate work in these spaces. [This is due to security requirements]

9. There are red strobe units located outside the spaces that were originally protected with Halon that appear to be part of the Halon system. Are these to remain? If they are to be removed, will the entire wall need repainting or just the colored area that the strobes are located in from corner to corner?

A. Per drawing FX-002 Note 1: Remove all portions of the Halon System to include all devices signs, wiring, accessible conduit and boxes and restore finishes. Surface devices to be removed are shown.
