STATEMENT OF WORK

Wheel and Tire Nitrogen Generator, Bldg. 1417

APRIL 2019

1. SCOPE:

The project is located at Eglin AFB, Florida. The Bauer stationary nitrogen generation system SNG-3/S/98/40 that is currently installed outside of Building 1417 requires removal/transport/disposal. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment associated with removing and transporting the old Bauer nitrogen generator SNG-3/S/98/40. The replacement Bauer stationary nitrogen generation system SNGII-20410, or like item, requires purchase and installation. The new nitrogen generator equipment should be sized to operate on the existing electrical circuit to the current nitrogen generator. The current circuit is 480 volts, 3-phase, fed from panel P4 in room 211 and is protected by a 60 amp circuit breaker. The circuit consists of three (3) #4 power conductors plus a #6 ground in 1/1/4” conduit terminating in a 60 amp non-fused disconnect. The current nitrogen generator is then fed from this disconnect. If the new nitrogen generator equipment can’t use the existing circuit, then it is the contractor’s responsibility to properly size and install the required circuit to power the new equipment from panel P4 in room 211. This new nitrogen generator Bauer SNGII-20410, or like item, will be installed in the same location as the existing Bauer SNG-3/S/98/40 generator, therefore, the old generator must be removed first. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment associated with the transport and installation of the new Bauer SNGII-20410 nitrogen generator, or like item. All previously mentioned expenses must be included and itemized in the contractor’s quote.

2. GENERAL:

Bauer SNGII-20410 Nitrogen Generator (or like item) The Bauer SNGII-20410, or like item, is a self-contained, fully-integrated system that does not require external utilities for operation. It eliminates the hazards involved with the handling of high-pressure cylinders as well as the burden of merchant-supplied bulk gas supply. Guaranteed performance engineered for reliable operations in any industrial setting. Compact footprint provides superior flexibility by minimizing space requirements. The turnkey package with an incorporated air source eliminates the need for external inputs for operation; full-sound attenuation allows for safe operation below OSHA safety requirements. Adding a central BAUER Nitrogen Generation System, or like item, can supply enough gas to support multiple processes.

Accessories include:

- Portable Percent Oxygen Monitor

- CE-Compliance

- TEFC Motors

- Second Language For Controls/Documentation

- Marine/Offshore Coating And Surface Preparation

3. DIMENSIONS (L x W x H): 85 x 59 x 77 inches (Nitrogen Generator)

4. ELECTRICAL:

Provide all labor and materials to disconnect and remove the existing nitrogen generator. Reuse the existing circuit to power the new equipment, if possible, or install the required electrical circuit from panel P4 (room 211) to a properly sized non-fused disconnect mounted adjacent to the equipment. Existing circuit breakers, conductors, conduit, and non-fused disconnect can be re-used by the contractor as long as they are the required size/rating IAW the manufacturer’s specifications/latest edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC). This circuit shall be installed in electric metallic conduit (EMT), and the conductors, conduit, and circuit breaker shall be sized IAW manufacturer’s specifications/latest edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Install the circuit from the non-fused disconnect switch to the compressor. This circuit shall be installed in EMT conduit with a final transition of no more than 6’ liquidtight, flexible metal conduit using fittings appropriate to the installation, to make the final connection to the compressor.

Both the conductors and conduit shall be sized IAW manufacturer’s specifications/latest edition of the NEC.

OTHER ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

Contractor shall perform all investigative and design services to verify where they will get power to feed the new equipment, which include all material required and method of installation Final installation shall comply with the manufacturer’s recommended instructions and standards.

Install all necessary components to make this a complete and operational system and by all appropriate codes and standards.

All insulated type wire shall be THHN/THWN copper Only use compression fittings for EMT conduit. Connectors using set screws are not allowed.

Contractor must field verify the voltage, amperage, wire size, transformer size, measurements, etc.

Ensure electrical work is completed per the latest edition of the National Electrical Code.

Ensure new electrical work is grounded and bonded per the latest edition of the National Electrical Code Ensure Design and Installation meet all requirements of UFC 3-600-01 and all applicable NFPA standards Ensure compliance with the Eglin AFB specific base electrical requirements.

All branch circuits shall have their own neutral conductor, no sharing of the neutral conductor.

The Contractor shall repair any openings in electrical boxes, panels, cabinets, etc. when the opening is created by the Contractor removing something or not using an opening they created Any holes created by the Contractor through the wall, floor, ceiling, etc. for installation or removal of conduit, pipe, duct, etc. needs to be repaired to seal the opening with appropriate material to meet any appropriate code requirements.
