Salient Characteristics
1. Contractor will be responsible for pick up and deliver to and from Eglin AFB Duke Field.

2 Rental rates based on a 28 day billing cycle with 176 hours of usage per month is acceptable.
3. As the customer we understand that we are responsible for daily maintenance and any damage to the rental equipment provided at our own expense.
4. We will be Requesting Caterpillar or equal equipment. I will include an equipment specification sheet and Brand name or equal letter.
5. We are requesting that the Rental equipment will be within two years old or newer. As rental equipment gets past the two year mark there is a significant loss in horse power, track wear, Shims, pins, tires and overall degradation of the machine resulting in a less productive and operator friendly piece of equipment costing more money in rental fees and more man hours potentially going over budget and time frame allotted to complete the project.
6. The rental company will be responsible for 24 hour seven days a week maintenance/repair service on all of the following equipment. If the piece of Equipment cannot be fixed in a timely manner (1-2 working days) then an equal replacement needs to be made available (within one working day) the vender will be responsible for pickup and delivery of replacement equipment at no cost to us. The rental company will be responsible for any service to the equipment (as in oil changes, filters and Equipment malfunctions) we will perform daily fluid checks and grease the machine. To ensure timely and accurate service and parts support, requested equipment must be supplied by a certified dealer of the original equipment manufacturer with OEM trained field-service support. Supplier must supply demonstrated history and evidence of its ability to provide this support. 24 hour service and repairs are a must, no exceptions.
7. In the event of a Hurricane, Tropical Storm or a major rainfall, we will require delivery of rental equipment within two weeks. Equipment package will be determined based on storm damage at that time.

9. This will be a six month rental contract.
These are the minimal requirements that we are willing to accept in order to successfully complete this project within the time and budget that has been allotted for this project. Equipment horse power, size, tonnage, blade width, Cab and A/C, Equipment weight, hauling capacity.
TRUCK:
Articulated truck shall be Caterpillar 725C2 or equal with no less than 314 net horsepower. An increase of 5-10 horse power is acceptable Truck shall have a rated payload of no less than 25 tons and be equipped with a tailgate to allow no less than 20.4 yds. heaped capacity. An increase of 2 tons or 3 yards is acceptable.
Truck shall have 6-speed transmission with a maximum speed of no less than 35 mph Truck must be equipped with inter-axle differential lock that can be safely engaged/disengaged “on-the-go” without having to slow or stop the machine for maximum productivity in poor conditions.
DOZER:
Crawler dozer shall be Caterpillar D5K2 LGP or D6K2 LGP or equal with no less than 108 net horsepower and operating weight no less than 30,664 lbs. An increase of 5 to 10 horsepower or 500lbs is acceptable.
Blade capacity shall not be less than 4.98 cubic yards for maximum productivity Dozer shall meet all emissions requirements without operator input and without the need to stop or slow machine operations for machine to regen DPF filters Dozer shall have automatic fuel priming pump to eliminate lengthy hand-pump priming process after filter changes Dozer shall be equipped with traction control technology to slow or eliminate track spin in heavy-load applications, enclosed cab and a/c.
Dozer shall be equipped with stable blade gyroscope technology, grade control and slope assist to improve fine grading performance. This is a hard requirement (no exceptions) Dozer shall be equipped with 12 volt electrical system with maintenance free batteries for easy service & maintenance and jump-off in the field.
EXCAVATOR:
Shall be Caterpillar 320FL or equal with no less than 161 net horsepower. An increase of 5 to 10 horsepower is acceptable. Operating weight of 47,400 lbs. Drawbar pull shall be no less than 46,000 lbs.
Excavator shall be equipped with 48” wide bucket with no less than 1.6 cubic yard capacity for maximum productivity. This is a hard requirement no (exceptions) Excavator shall be equipped with no less than a 9’6” stick with no less than 32’4” reach at ground level for working in difficult terrain.
Excavator shall be equipped with heavy-duty bottom, swivel and final drive guards to protect machine in difficult environments.
Excavator shall be equipped with straight travel pedal for operator ease and comfort.
Excavator shall be equipped with electric fuel priming pump to eliminate lengthy hand-pump priming after filter changes.
Grade, Depth & Slope Control System. This is a hard requirement (no exceptions) Rear-view camera, Thumb Attachment
COMPACTOR:
Shall be Caterpillar CS56 or equal with no less than 157 net horsepower and operating weight of no less than 25,000 lbs. An increase of 5 to 10 horsepower is acceptable Compactor must be equipped with dual propel pumps – one for tires and one for drum – for maximum traction and grading ability in poor underfoot conditions or steep terrain. 84” Drum width. This is a hard requirement (no exceptions)
LOADER:

| Loader shall be equipped with quick-coupler designed and built by machine manufacturer to ensure maximum productive, timely support and parts availability. Machine shall be equipped with 3.7yd general purpose quick-coupler bucket and fork carriage with adjustable tines. For maximum productivity and operator simplicity, loader must be equipped with stepless hydrostatic transmission with rimpull and throttle lock control features.
Loader must be equipped with front locking differential for maximum productivity in soft ground conditions.
Loader must be equipped with ride-control suspension system to reduce machine bounce & loping when traveling high-speed with loaded bucket.
EXCAVATOR with MULCHING HEAD Shall be Caterpillar 316EL or equal with no less than 113 net horsepower and operating weight of no less than 38,800 lbs. An increase in weight and horse power is acceptable Drawbar pull shall be no less than 35,000 lbs. (This is a hard requirement) Shall be equipped with DML FAE mulching head Model /HY100 with hydraulic lines / hoses supplied by equipment manufacturer with OEM part numbers and support ( this is a hard requirement no exceptions ) Excavator shall be equipped with no less than a 10’2” stick with no less than 30’5” reach at ground level for working in difficult terrain. (This is a hard requirement) Excavator shall be equipped with heavy-duty bottom, swivel and final drive guards to protect machine in difficult environments.
Excavator shall be equipped with straight travel pedal for operator ease and comfort.
