RFI Questions & Answers

1. What is the pre-badge process? I know there was a section about getting "Guest Badges" but didn't know if that was all we needed or if we would need to apply all of our technicians through a badging process? If so, what is that process?

The winning contractor will need to submit a Visitors Access Request with vehicle and personnel information, at least 48 hours in advance. There are 4 different tabs across the bottom. The First two are personnel and vehicle and the last two explain the procedure for filling it out. This needs to be submitted to the CE Security Manager or Project Manager for the contract.

2. What is the process of getting in daily? By this we are just trying to find out if once we would arrive on site, is there a waiting period to get approved each day and about how long does that process take daily?

If they have a Certified Escort, That is someone who has completed the Escort training and has been authorized to escort visitors, then they will proceed through the north portal and the escort will get each visitor a badge. If they are not certified to be an Escort, someone from the shop will meet them at the portal and be the escort for them. It is recommended to save time that they have at least one person certified as an Escort. It only takes about 45 minutes to complete the training.

3. Lastly, what kind of access is there to where we would be working on the boilers? Can we just pull up with our trucks to a bay and unload and the boilers are pretty easily accessible or do we park at one end and hall materials, tools etc. to the location of the boiler room?

Boiler room has immediate access to the outside of the building via a very large roll up garage door. No issues with getting equipment or tools in and out of the building. But the Vehicle MUST have been submitted on the attached form in advance before entering the Restricted Area.
