0900 PROTESTANT TRADITIONAL WORSHIP MUSICIAN/ACCOMPANIST

Performance of Work Statement

(APPROPRIATED FUNDS)

Description of Services. Non‐personal services to provide Protestant worship music accompaniment services in accordance with the requirements of this Performance Work Statement (PWS). Services include all labor, material, equipment (other than GFP listed), supervision and transportation required to perform the necessary duties of this requirement.

1. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES. This Performance of Work Statement is established to support the Protestant Chapel Ministries. Contractor shall provide musical accompaniment on keyboard/organ for the 0900 Protestant Traditional Service, weekly choir/praise team rehearsals, and for Service Chaplain-approved special services and activities.

2. GENERAL RESPONIBILITIES.

2.1. Coordinate with the Protestant Traditional worship service Chaplain and the Protestant Music Director on the preparation of all music rehearsals and presentations required to support the Protestant Traditional Worship Service and assist by providing accompaniment music for all required worship services and special services performed as part of the Protestant program.

2.2. For each worship service: Provide the prelude music (if needed) and offertory music (special instrumental music during the receiving of the offering) and congregational singing. Be ready to play music from the chapel Protestant hymnal as selected by the chaplain of the service as needed. Provide congregational accompaniment hymn music and postlude.

2.3. The contractor must be able to maintain a neat, clean, conservative dress, and well-groomed professional appearance, and conduct themselves in a business-like manner.

2.4. If awarded the contract, the contractor must submit an application for a background check to the Contract Monitor according to Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI 1402.5). Criminal History Background Checks.

2.5. The contractor will provide a substitute to perform services in the event or an absence. This substitute must be of equal or greater capability than contractor and be approved by the Deputy Chaplain, or his designate. Contractor will develop a documented method of reimbursement for any substitutes.

2.6. Advise the advising Chaplain of funding requirements. Funds or services will not be obligated without authorization of the Deputy Wing Chaplain.

2.7. Provide security for government equipment and property used in performance of this PWS. Government owned property will not be removed from the chapel without written approval by the appropriate equipment custodian.

2.8. Follow building security measures. Musician will ensure facility is secured at the conclusion of events. Secure keyboard, organ, and all lights.

2.9. Report any facility problems to the building manager on the next official duty day.

3. Specific Responsibilities.

3.1. Protestant Worship

Services

52 per year Provide musical accompaniment for the Protestant music programs in accordance with Para. 2.1 of Appendix E for the following:

a. Traditional Service: Seaside Chapel (357 Titan Ave, Patrick

AFB, FL) on Sunday at 0900

3.2. Choir Rehearsals:

Traditional 52 per year Provide Musical accompaniment at the weekly choir rehearsals;

rehearsal time and day will be coordinated with the Protestant Music Director and advising Protestant Chaplain and posted in the Protestant Chapel newsletter.

3.4. Musical

Accompaniment

52 per year Provide musical accompaniment for choral selections, congregational singing, interludes and other selections during the course of Sunday worship services.

3.5. Special Services

(Musical Accompaniments)

24 per year Provide musical accompaniments (including preparation of a choir, if required) for chapel special services to include, but not limited to, funeral or memorial services (Active Duty) and seasonal special worship services including Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas, at the request of the advising Protestant Chaplain.

4. MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS.

4.1. One year minimum experience as a chapel or church musician.

4.2. A knowledge of traditional Protestant religious music. Ability to play for congregational and choral singing, special music, as well as for the enhancement of the worship experience.

4.3. Have an appreciation for and commitment to Christian worship, as well as a spirit of caring for worshippers and participants in music ministries.

4.4. Proven record of maintaining professional relationships in a chapel or church program.

4.5. Have familiarity with multiple denominational worship styles and music, being sensitive to the chapel's pluralistic environment.

4.6. May have ability to improvise while playing keyboard/organ or accompanying a soloist.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT SUMMARY

1. Description. The contract performance requirements are summarized in performance objectives that related directly to mission essential items. The performance threshold briefly describes the minimally acceptable levels of service required for each requirement. The Performance Requirement Summary (PRS) provide information on contract requirements, the expected level of contractor performance and the expected method of government validation and confirmation of services provided. These thresholds are critical to mission success

2. Overall Performance Requirement. No more than two valid customer complaints per month. Validity of complaints will be determined by the COR in coordination with the Deputy Wing Chaplain.

3. Specific Performance Objectives. Performance evaluations will include random sampling of delivered products and/or services, customer complaints, and monthly assessments
