About this file
This document is a Special Provisions file from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a Barrier Gates Pilot Project located on the Columbia River Highway in Multnomah and Hood River Counties, scheduled for April 2025. The project involves constructing asphalt concrete pavement, installing barrier gates, and performing additional incidental work across multiple locations along Interstate 84 at mile posts 11.38, 29.32, and 47.55. The project will include traffic lane closures, with specific restrictions on timing (nightly between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and other designated periods), and involves the installation of temporary roadside barriers, traffic control signage, and specific traffic management protocols.
The contract includes precise specifications for materials, traffic control, pavement removal, and barrier gate installation. ODOT will furnish three barrier gate assemblies at a specified location in Clackamas, OR, and the contractor is responsible for following detailed traffic control, safety, and work zone management guidelines. The project will use the 2024 Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction, with specific modifications outlined in the document. Quantities are estimated and subject to adjustment, and the contractor must provide detailed scheduling, comply with utility notification requirements, and implement comprehensive safety policies and practices throughout the project's duration.
