About this file

This is an Engineering Data Requirements (EDR) document specifying manufacturing requirements for a forward-removable single-plate aircraft fuselage fuel tank (Part Number 16VB004001-3, NSN 1560-01-322-9987WF) for the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation.

The document outlines Item Unique Identifier (IUID) requirements, mandating that contractors must include both human-readable and machine-readable matrix markings. Specific requirements include minimum 1/8 inch lettering for human-readable information (CAGE, part number, and serial number) and minimum 1/4 inch square 2D matrix markings. The document emphasizes that military specifications/standards will not be furnished in the bid set, deviations from control drawing specifications require prior OO-ALC Engineering approval, and all IUID markings must be permanent and highly visible in accessible locations. The requirements reference several standards including MIL-STD-130, ANSI/AIM BCII, ISO 15434, ISO 15415, and ISO 15418.
