About this file
This document contains an engineering data requirements attachment and technical specifications for a TPS-75 Dehydrator Compressor solicitation. The solicitation is set aside 100% for small businesses and provides a technical data package under the links on the attachments page. The engineering data requirements attachment specifies manufacturing instructions for a compressor/dehydrator assembly with part number 80973801-01 and national stock number 4440-01-582-1594ZR. It outlines required specifications, standards, testing procedures, and unique identification marking in accordance with MIL-STD-130. Tests include verifying rated performance by measuring delivery flow, outlet air temperature and dew point, and compressor restart and shutoff times under specified conditions. The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is the contracting agency.

2. Test Setup
a. The reservoir w/pressure gauge is connected to the compressor dehydrator outlet, the needle valve to the reservoir, the flow meter to the needle valve, the dew point meter to the flow meter.
3. Operational Test
a. Delivery Flow Test.
i. Set needle valve open. With compressor dehydrator running, set outlet pressure to 25 psig.
Output air flow must not be less than 0.5 SCFM at 25 (±1) psig.
ii. With needle valve open, operate systems for 10 to 15 minutes and verify the desiccant in the sight glass on the desiccant container assembly is a blue color
b. Outlet Air Temperature and Dew Point
i. Operate system for 30 minutes. Outlet air temperature must not be higher than 40°F above inlet ambient temperature. Outlet air dew point must be 10°F maximum at an inlet ambient temperature of 70°F to 130°F; or 60°F below inlet temperature at ambient of -20°F to +70°F
c. Compressor Restart and Shut Off Times
i. Refer to Figure 8-1. Close needle valve. Pressurize reservoir to 27 psig and ensure compressor dehydrator turns off. Note time. Compressor should be off for a minimum of 3 hours and should not drop more than 3 psi. (Duty cycle of 90:1).
