Statement of Work

1.1 Description of Product

The belt screens at Chandler Power and Canal facility (Prosser, Washington) screen fish out of the pump back pump bay, acclimation ponds, and hatchery supply water (see left photo, Chandler Belt Screen). A single belt screen is comprised of a polymer mesh grid, of which, the tolerance of interlocking pins must meet NOAA/NMFS criteria for vertical rotation (traveling) belt screens. Due to heavy periods of abrasive silt in the water during certain parts of the operational season the belt material can experience abnormal wear and create an out of criteria situation. If this happens the mesh must be replaced.

Currently the existing mesh material has stretched and has exceeded the operating criteria required for the facility. Delaying the replacement of this material is a potential for failure. This means the pumps cannot run and compromises the fish in the hatchery and acclimation ponds. The lead time for procuring replacement mesh after the fact is too long and would impact the daily site operations.

Materials requested will be installed by the Yakima Field Office Fish and Operations Staff as they are the group responsible for the maintenance of the fish screen facility. The facility is briefly shutdown for annual repairs and maintenance during the fall after irrigation deliveries are no longer required, (mid-Nov to mid-Dec). The replacement belt screens will be required prior to facility shutdown to execute removal of existing screens and installation of new product.

1.2 Schedule B.

Under this supply contract the product must be able to function with the existing sprocket/drive systems as they are not in need of replacement. The existing sprockets are Intralox/Hydralox Series 1800, 10.6” (13T) split metal (SS) with a 2 ½” square bore.

Specs for the belt screen mesh, eight (8) total:

Each unit of 26.0 feet in length of 65.9 inch wide series 1800 mesh top with orange slidelox (see right photo, Chandler Belt Screen) black UV resistant nylon belt. Belt panels to be connected with black abrasion resistant nylon rods (66 IN +/- 0.25) Belt must match up with Intralox Series 1800, 10.6” (13T) split metal (SS) sprockets.

Note: This will be for Replacement Belt Mesh for USBR Hydrolox Screen from manufacturer Intralox.
