Irrigation System Extension & Install Statement of Work
1. Background: The San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center located in Parlier, CA has a research field requiring a new irrigation system. The field currently lacks a source connection to build a new flood irrigation system. A new connection is required to extend the water source to the new field, in addition to building and installing the new flood system to support irrigation to the research field plots.
2. Scope: The Contractor shall provide a proposal to connect to an existing 10-inch flood pvc line and extend the line to the new field and build the irrigation system in the new field per the requirement section of this scope of work.
3. Objectives: The objective of this contract is to obtain a contractor who is experienced with the installation of agricultural field irrigation systems, including all trenching and backfill.
4. Requirements:
Contractor will perform the following tasks as a part of this Irrigation System Extension & Install:
· Total trenching required is 815 ft. at a 4 ft. depth, include backfill
· Extend existing 10-inch flood pvc line
· Make connection to existing 10-inch pvc pipe, perpendicular connection to sidewall
· Build and extend 10-inch pvc pipe 390 ft. to reach new research field
· Terminate extension with a 10-inch tee
· Build flood irrigation system in new field. The irrigation design should meet the following specifications:
· Build and extend the 10-inch pvc line 425 ft. total end-to-end from existing 10-inch tee installed above
· Install a total of 18, 6-inch risers with a 25 ft. spacing, splitting the center of the 425 ft. total length. To clarify, the middle 25 ft. check will be centered in the field with a riser on each side spaced 25 ft. apart. The additional 16 risers will extend in both directions with a 25 ft. spacing.
· Install a 6x4-inch reducer followed by a 4-inch elbow at the top of each riser. End should be centered at a 6-inch height above soil surface.
· Terminate each riser with a 4-inch iron butterfly valve
· All exposed pvc pipe and fittings should be painted with all weather safety blue
5. Delivery: Contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials, and supplies required to achieve the quality performance standards of the work in this contract
6. Government-Furnished Property: None
7. Security Requirements: Contractor must sign in daily with receptionist.
8. Place of Performance: The work to be performed under this contract will be performed at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center (SJVASC), located at 9611 S Riverbend Ave, Parlier, CA 93648. Highly encouraged that contractor perform a site walk prior to submitting proposal.
9. Period of Performance: 30 days after Notice to Proceed
