FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs
STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)
(SOW)
GENERAL INFORMATION
Title of Project:
QX200 Digital PCR Reader System with AutoDG Service Contract
Statement of Need, Purpose, and/or Objective:
The NIA requires a service contract for a QX200 Digital PCR Reader with AutoDG.
Background Information:
Droplet Digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR) was developed to provide high-precision, absolute quantification of nucleic acid target sequences with wide-ranging applications for both research and clinical diagnostic applications. ddPCR measures absolute quantities by counting nucleic acid molecules encapsulated in discrete, volumetrically defined water-in-oil droplet partitions. ddPCR is able to overcome the lack of scalable and practical technologies for digital PCR implementation. Digital PCR (dPCR) is largely seen as the next step in the evolution of PCR – it enables reliable, absolute quantification of rare alleles in minute quantities of sample in a short amount of time. Currently, the ability to detect copy number of RNA variants is of key importance in this ever-changing field, and dPCR is the best, most accurate technology capable of performing this function.
