About this file

This document summarizes a non-competitive combined synopsis and solicitation for the upgrade of a Molecular Devices ImageXpress System to enable optogenetic screening of neural response. The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences at the National Institutes of Health seeks to purchase a high-performance 7 line laser light source, asynchronous dispense software, upgrade installation, and operational training from Molecular Devices or an authorized distributor. The upgrade is required to investigate neural response as part of efforts to seek treatments for opioid abuse. The determination to award without full and open competition is based on market research finding no other capable sources within the required timeframe. The contracting officer will determine price reasonableness before award.
