SUBJECT: Minimum Specifications for Modified Hammer Mill for Processing Hemps Stalks
1. The Agriculture Research Service has a need for a modified Hammer Mill for processing hemp stalks into fiber and hurd in support of industrial hemp fiber research operations.
2. Minimum specifications are:
- 3 HP electric motor
- Integral variable frequency drive to control performance
- 9” rotor diameter
- 12 inch by 20 inch feed hopper, or larger
- Carbon steel construction
- 30 fixed steel hammers designed for industrial hemp (Cannabis Sativa L.) processing
- Removable rotor assembly for cleaning and removal of material
- Perforated screens to separate processed materials (1/8” to ½” screen material)
- Support stand with casters for storage and transport
- Collection tote for processed material
