MEMORANDUM FOR MICC-Fort Drum

SUBJECT: Brand Name Exact Match Memo for FedBid Buy [#]

1. The only hand held radio that can be purchased is the APX 4000 UHFR1 MHZ Model 2 Portable because it is the hand held radio in use and it is the only radio that can be programed on the base to meet our needs in testing. Any other hand held radio is not acceptable for the reasons stated.

2. Our radio maintenance department only programs the radios that they obtain or other radios that we purchase with the same name brand, which is way we have to have a certain type of radio.

3. As stated in paragraph number 2, radio maintenance will only work on APX 4000 type radios

4. For the reasons listed above, our division requests that a brand name radio with the model number XPX 4000 only be purchased.

5. If there are any questions, please contact Mr. Ronald R Basolet at (928) 328-3234 or (928) 920-2761
