III. BRAND NAME SPECIFICATION JUSTIFICATION

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:

The Weapons Analysis Facility (WAF) at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport Code 8515 is the US Navy’s torpedo hardware-in-the-loop simulator facility, and is used to support research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) for the torpedo programs.

Current and future projects will require integrating additional torpedo hardware into the WAF simulators. New test equipment is needed both to replace aging and obsolete test equipment and to provide additional capability to support these new projects.

To support these new projects, the WAF requires an oscilloscope with the following features:

Bandwidth of 350 MHz Logic analyzer capability with at least 32 digital channels Ability to decode and trigger on RS-232, 422, and CAN bus messages Spectrum analyzer capability with a frequency range of DC to 300 kHz Ability to display time-continuous and time-discontinuous spectrograms Ability to simultaneously display spectrograms and multiple time series traces Ability to display spectrograms of multiple channels simultaneously Ability to perform jitter and timing analysis Ability to perform power supply analysis Ability to have the device be unclassified when the internal storage is removed Ability to inject test waveforms into the hardware under test and monitor outputs at a different physical location within the lab

It was determined that the following set of test equipment is necessary to meet the needs of the WAF lab:

Item Description Quantity MSO58B Mixed-signal Oscilloscope 1 5-AFG Function generator option 1 5-SRCOMP RS-232/422/485 option 1 5-SREMBD I2C/SPI analysis option 1 5-PWR Power analysis option 1 5-DJA Jitter analysis option 1 5-SRAUTO CANbus analysis option 1 5-SEC Password protection option 1 5-WIN Removable SSD option 1 5-SV-RFVT Continuous-time spectrogram option 1 5-RL-500M Extra record length option 1 SignalVu Signal analysis software 1 TLP058 Logic probes 6 MSO24 Mixed-signal Oscilloscope 1 AFG31022 Arbitrary function generator 1

Additionally, these devices will require Z540.3 calibration reports.
