1. Is this solicitation “full and open” Answer: Yes
2. The budget for the proposal SOW appears low.
Answer: Budget $300,000
3. Please confirm your Place of Performance Answers: Washington, DC
4. When is the anticipated award date:
Answers: No Later than Sept 30th 2012
5. When is the anticipated start date:
Answers: Before 30 Sept 2012
6. Does BBG/ODDI I have a preference for specific development environment/languages for the API’s Answers: There are currently two Content Management Systems the APIs need to support/be compatible with, one is built in .NET, the other is Drupal (PHP).
7. What platforms are currently in use?
Answers: No current API platforms, major content/data platforms are custom.NET CMS and Drupal-based CMS.
8. Can we get a database schema of the data to be interface with via the API?
Answers: Not available at this time
9. Are there any development language requirements or restrictions? If so, what are they?
Answers: Same answer as #6, needs to be compatiable/interface with both.NET/MSSQL AND PHP/MySQL. API exports shall include XML and JSON.
10. What the current and/or projected API Usage Statistics?
Answer: TBD What is the current database system in use?
Answer: Two separate database systems, MSSQL for the .NET CMS and MySQL for the Drupal CMS.
Is building the API using a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform acceptable? YES
(2) Do you have any documentation on what systems the APIs will be required to communicate with? not at this time. Systems may include a .NET CMS, a Drupal CMS and an Online Audio+Video Platform Service
(3) Using SaaS may deem certain requirements unnecessary, such as API rate-limiting configuration software. Is this a correct assumption? All SaaS solutions must provide user configurable rate-limiting features. As well as user-configurations for all other required features
(4) Can we get more details as to the specifics that are required for C4: API Management Software? Task Area 4 is the SaaS solution, details on requirements shall include the following
• API Management Web-based Browser-Interface
• API Browser-based Developer Portal
• API Rate-Limiting Configuration Software
• API Authentication and Access Level Management Software
• API Delivery Protocol Translation Services
• API Delivery Acceleration Services
• API Monitoring and Logging Services
• API Analytics Reports
• API Versioning Software Services
