Bathtub/Shower Combination

Scope of Work

Prep Work Prior to Tear Out

1.1 The Contractor is to work with housing staff to secure water at the Home’s main water shutoff valve.

1.2 The Contractor is to complete full tear out of existing bath tub and shower surround.

Hardware is to be replaced not reused.

1.3 The Contractor to tape plastic sheeting or cover vents and tape in place in bathroom and any other areas nearest the bathroom that would have potential for dust to spread throughout residence.

1.4 The Contractor is to place drop clothes or plastic floor covering throughout traffic pattern of unit on carpet leading from entrance to bathroom to assist in containing debris and dust throughout removal and install until completion of project.

1.5 The Contractor is to remove any interferences prior to removal of tub/shower. (i.e. toilet removal, vanity, or any other fixed items that interfere with this project.) Any item of this nature are to be reused, proceed with caution and care. Contractor will reinstall any and all items they removed for work to be performed.

1.6 The Contractor is responsible for proper disposal of all materials not being reused.

Tear Out Completion before Install Work

1.7 Provide a report of conditions found for all studs, floor coverings, piping, drain line and any backside of conjoined wallboard.

1.8 The Contractor is to determine if there is need for floor leveling and preform such work prior to commencing with tub install for proper installation and flow of the new fixtures.

Installation Direction

1.9 The contractor prior to any install is to ensure area is clean of debris and foreign materials that could affect the proper operation or cause potential damage to the new fixtures.

1.10 The contractor is to install government furnished 1-1/2” plastic drainage tube and overflow tube piping to outside of left-drain bathtub under manufacture installation specifications.

1.11 The contractor is to install government furnished left-drain Sterling Ensemble Bathtub under manufacture installation specifications.

1.12 The contractor after bathtub is leveled and in place is to install government furnished 3-piece wall surround under manufacture installation specifications.

1.13 The contractor will make all rough cuts to bathtub surround for new fixtures under manufacture specifications.

1.14 The contractor will install government furnished New Moen Posi-Temp mixing valve.

Any piping and materials needed to install mixing valve will be provided and completed by the contractor.

1.15 The contractor is to install all new fixtures itemized per the manufactures instructions, guidelines and specifications.

1.16 The contractor to install government furnished toe-touch bathtub drain stopper under manufacture installation specifications.

1.17 Any parts and tools outside of items listed above as provided by the USCG is under the responsibility of the contractor to provide for any and all installation requirements.

Finish Work after Bathtub/Shower Install

1.18 The contractor is to place, cover and secure to framing above the shower surround with

½” Mold and Moisture-Resistant wallboard.

1.19 The contractor after securing wallboard in place is to prepare, prime and paint wallboard.

The paint used should be the government furnished and supplied Sherwin Williams Prep-

Rite Pro-Block and Sherwin Williams Promar 200- Egg-Shell Tan for the finish coat.

Local housing unit will provide primer and paint as needed.

1.20 The contractor after painting is complete, apply 100% silicone sealant where bathtub unit contacts the finished wall. And apply 100% silicone sealant where bathtub unit meets the bathroom laminate flooring.

Government Furnished Supplies

1.21 Sterling Ensemble, White Vikrell Rectangular Left-Hand Drain Alcove Bathtub, Item#149726 Model#71121810, 32-in W X 60-in L X 18-in H Bathtub Height.

1.22 Sterling Ensemble, Curve Wall Set, White Vikrell Bathtub Wall Surround, Complete 3-

Piece Wall Set, Item#212073, Model# 71224800, 33.25-in x 60-in.

1.23 Moen Adler Bath and Shower Kit, Item#812939, Model#82603SRN. Contains the following: Spot Resist Brushed Nickel Finish, Posi-Temp Valve and 1222 Cartridge, Shower Head, Shower Arm, Flange, Handle, Handle Adaptor Kit, Threaded Tub Spout, and Escutcheon with Screws.

1.24 Foot Lok Stop Plastic Bath Tub Drain Kit, Item#K63WDSBN. Contains the following: 1-

1/2” Plastic Tube, Brushed Nickel Finish, Toe Touch Style Foot Lok Stop Drain Closure.

1.25 Sherwin Williams Prep-Rite Pro-Block Primer and Sherwin Williams Promar 200- Egg-

Shell Tan. Painting supplies outside of provided primer and paint will be provided by the contractor.

1.26 All other tools and/or parts not listed in this section will be provided by the contractor.

Only the items outlined above as Government furnished supplies will be provided to the contractor through the Local Housing POC.

Material / Parts Information

2.1 Contractor will furnish all tools and supplies required to perform work with exception of

Government Furnished Supplies.

2.2 No US Coast Guard equipment will be utilized.

2.3 There is no on-site storage available for contractors use.

References

3.1 All work to be completed shall comply with Federal, State and Local Laws, Codes and

Regulations.

3.2 Manufactures’ requirements and recommendations shall be followed for all products used.

Liabilities

4.1 The contractor will be financially responsible for any and all damages incurred while working on Government property. The contractor shall notify the POC listed immediately if any damage has occurred.

Coordination

5.1 Once awarded all communications will go through the Local CG POC listed for scheduling, all modifications or contract inquiry will go through the Contracting Officer or their representative. No work can be modified or changed without their permission and the prior approval.

5.2 If local POC cannot be reached secondary POC will be contacted.

5.3 No work can be modified or changed without pre-authorized approval by the POC.

5.4 Normal work hours will be between 0800 and 1500, Monday through Friday excluding all Federal Holidays. Any work outside these times need to be worked out ahead of time.

Project Completion

6.1 During all contract work strict precautions listed below will be followed by all installers to prevent any potential spread of COVID-19.

6.2 During contract all workers will monitor their health and notify their project manager for the company as well as the Local CG POC if they believe they may have contracted

COVID-19 and have already made entry into any of our government owned residential units. If contractor technician believes they may have contracted COVID-19 they will not be granted access into Government Owned Housing and the contractor will have to make other arrangements to complete the contract.

6.3 All work completed must meet the Local CG POC’s expectation as outlined in this SOW.

The site is to be at a minimum as clean of a condition it was found in. All trash, debris, materials removed, etc. should be properly disposed by the contractor. There will be no on-site storage available for the duration of this project minus the Government Furnished

Equipment Storage.
