Salient Characteristics

ROBOTIC TOTAL STATION AND ACCESSORIES

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:

1 EA, Robotic Total Station (bundled system):

1. Bundled system shall consist of a Robotic Total Station, Controller, Radio Module, Prism, Pole Mount

Bracket, Pole Mount Clamp, Battery Charger, and Robotic Power Kit.

Robotic Total Station

2. Shall include a robotic-enabled total station instrument for surveying, imaging, and 3-D scanning applications.

3. Shall have an angle accuracy of 1 inch, or better.

4. Shall include an electromagnetic direct drive system that provides frictionless motion to reduce equipment wear.

5. Shall include technology that utilizes images and video to assist with or performing data collection.

6. Shall include technology that automatically corrects for unwanted movement due to wind, sinkage, or other factors.

7. Shall include technology that allows the instrument to be physically located at all times and provide alerts if the instrument is relocated, or experiences unexpected equipment shock.

8. Shall be capable of keeping up-to-date data on equipment usage, firmware, applications, and maintenance requirements.

9. Shall be capable of detecting targets without interference from surrounding prisms to ensure target lock over long distances.

10. Shall include Direct Reflex (DR) and Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) Technology.

11. Shall have ISO distance measurement accuracy in prism mode of at least 1 mm + 2 ppm (0.003 ft + 2 ppm).

12. Shall have RMSE distance measurement accuracy in prism mode of at least 2 mm + 2 ppm (0.0065 ft +

2 ppm).

13. Shall have DR Mode distance measurement accuracy of at least 2 mm + 2 ppm (0.0065 ft + 2 ppm).

14. Shall include an automatic level compensator with a range of +/-5.4 ft. and an accuracy of 0.5” or better.

15. Shall have measurement range (Prism Mode) from 0.2 m to at least 2,000 m (6,562 ft) and a Long Range

(Prism Mode) of at least 5,000 m (16,404 ft).

16. Shall have DR mode range with the following:

a. 90% reflective white card - at least 1,300 m (4,265 ft) in good/normal visibility.

b. Shall have DR extended range mode with 90% reflective white card to at least 2,000 m (6,562 ft).

17. Shall have an electronic 2-axis level in the LC-display with a resolution of at least 0.3” (0.1 mgon).

18. Shall include a built-in camera with video streaming capability.

19. Shall operate from an internal rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery with an operating time of at least 6 hours on a single charge.

20. Shall have a built-in optical plummet.

21. Shall have a built-in telescope capable of at least 30x magnification.

22. Shall be capable of USB, Serial, Bluetooth communications.

23. Shall have operating temperature range from -20 to +50 ºC.

24. Shall have an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of at least IP65.

25. Shall be capable of robotic surveying.

a. Shall have robotic range with passive prisms of at least 500 m (1,640 ft).

b. Shall have 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping, spread-spectrum radios.

26. Shall have a GPS search solution acquisition time of no more than 30 seconds.

Controller for Total Station:

27. Shall be compatible with the Total Station described above.

28. Shall include a 5” color, multi-touch, touchscreen display. Display shall also be readable in sunlight and include anti-glare features.

29. Shall include computer processor operating at speeds up to 2.2 GHz or faster.

30. Shall not include software.

31. Shall operate on rechargeable Lithium-Ion type batteries capable of operating for at least 12 hrs. on a single charge.

32. Shall have a speaker and microphone.

33. Shall support WWAN Worldwide Network connectivity.

34. Shall have backlit alphanumeric keyboard with QWERTY type key arrangement and include a stylus with tether.

35. Shall include USB ports for power charging and data transfer.

36. Shall have a rear facing camera capable of 13 MP resolution, or better.

37. Shall include an integrated accelerometer, compass, and gyro sensor.

38. Shall have integrated GNSS with GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS support.

39. Shall have at least 4 GB RAM memory and 64 GB Flash memory.

40. Shall be capable of operating Android 10 operating system.

41. Shall be capable of withstanding a drop from 4 ft. onto a hard surface such as concrete.

42. Shall be capable of operating over a range of temperatures from at least -25 to 60o C.

43. Shall have Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth communications.

44. Shall be AT&T and Verizon certified.

45. Shall allow for MicroSIM card expansion capability.

46. Shall be compatible with Empower 2.4 GHz radio modules.

47. Shall include all applicable accessories including cables, (USB), hand strap, screwdriver, stylus tips, soft carry case, etc.

Radio Module:

48. Shall be compatible with the Total Station and Controller described above.

49. Shall consist of a 2.4 GHz radio and antenna for wireless communication with the Total Station.

50. Shall be capable connecting to the Controller.

51. Shall be capable of RFID and barcode scanning.

Prism:

52. Shall be compatible with the Total Station described above.

53. Shall be a multi-track 360o Total Station prism with Active Tracking technology.

54. Shall have a prism constant of 10 mm and an accuracy of 5”.

55. Shall have a tracking range of 800 m and a target height of 135 mm.

56. Shall include a Li-ion battery and ac power adapter.

Pole Mount Bracket:

57. Shall be used with the Controller described above.

58. Shall allow the Controller to snap/lock into place on the bracket.

59. Shall be provided with mounting screws.

60. Shall be made of corrosion resistant materials.

Pole Mount Clamp (Quick-Release):

61. Shall be compatible with the Pole Mount Bracket described below.

62. Shall be a “quick-release” type and include an adjustable arm.

63. Shall be provided with mounting screws.

64. Shall be made of corrosion resistant materials.

Dual Battery Charger:

65. Shall be compatible with the Total Station described above.

66. Shall consist of a dual-slot battery charging cradle.

67. Shall include power supply and power cord with North American plugs.

Robotic Power Kit:

68. Shall be compatible with the Total Station described above.

69. Shall consist of 3 ea. batteries and a triple battery adapter/charger.

70. Shall include hard carrying case with handle.

1 EA, Field Applications Software:

71. Shall be compatible with the Controller described above.

72. Shall consist of field applications software to support workflows with the Total Station described above.

73. Shall be optimized for measuring points, stake-out points, lines, arcs, alignments, and scanning.

74. Shall provide graphical routines for calculating points and features.

75. Shall be capable of providing a continuous display of maps or video and forms in a “side-by-side” manner.

76. Shall support coordinate geometry routines.

77. Shall allow user to collect, share, and deliver data and information in the field.

1 EA, Telescoping Rod:

78. Shall be compatible with Prism specs above.

79. Shall be made of carbon fiber.

80. Shall be a telescoping type prism rod capable of extending up to 2.6 m.

1 EA, Bipod:

81. Shall consist of a prism pole, or GPS antenna, bipod.

82. Shall include a thumb release clamp locking mechanism for quick positioning of a pole.

83. Shall have independent telescoping legs capable of extending up to at least 6 ft.

84. Shall be constructed of aluminum with yellow-colored legs.

1 EA, Quick Clamp Tripod:

85. Shall be compatible with the total station described above.

86. Shall consist of surveying grade tripod that meets ISO standard 12858-2-H.

87. Shall have yellow fiberglass legs capable of extending up to at least 71”.

88. Shall include a retaining system to prevent leg “kick-out” and “quick clamp” lock mechanisms.

89. Shall have replaceable “points’ on the feet.

90. Shall have a 2 5/8” centering hole with 6 5/8” flathead pad.

1 EA, Leveling Software:

91. Shall be compatible with the Total Station described above.

92. Shall consist of software that includes tools and features for performing high precision trigonometric leveling functions with the Total Station.

93. Shall support report generation and file exporting while in the field.
