Performance Work Statement:
Objectives: Remove the trees from the cross section/measurement location at Sacandaga River at Stewarts Bridge (Site ID 01325000) located in Hadley NY and remove the tree(s) leaning on the tether system to avoid further damage to the tether and obstructions impeding regular sitework and maintenance by USGS Staff.
Tasks: Remove 6 trees from cross section at the site (43.31138889, -73.8672222) and reduce the length of the pieces to freely float downstream. The goal is to bring the cross section and tether back to the original status and accessible for regular work and streamgaging, tether work will be completed by USGS Staff.
Company responsibility: The company will be responsible for assuring that trees that fell back on April 17th are no longer blocking the cross section at site 01325000 or obstructing the tether from regular use. The site is located at: 43.31138889, -73.8672222 off of North Shore Road.
Stewarts Bridge is operated in cooperation with Brookfield Power and is regulated by the Sacandaga Reservoir. The damaged tether is located roughly 400 feet downstream of the gage house. The 6 trees are to be cut down and length reduced to float downstream. The company is responsible for any disposal or cleanup that may be required. The downed trees are to be removed from the tether but no work by the company is to be preformed on the tether, USGS Staff will handle any required for the tether. Removal and disposal of trees and debris will be done in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Period of Performance should be 6/3/24 to 6/15/24
